Life once painted a vastly different picture for Jeremiah Rosales.
Poised to follow in the footsteps of his famous older brother, Jericho Rosales, Jeremiah was a rising star with the world at his feet.
Between movie appearances and a heartwarming Kuya J endorsement that showcased their brotherly bond, the future seemed limitless.
And if the limelight ever lost its appeal, the 42-year-old former actor could have taken to the skies as a pilot—a dream he once set aside for showbiz.
These days, that canvas is marred by shadows.
When news of his sudden disappearance recently broke, the public response was strikingly subdued.
It’s as if a collective amnesia has set in—erasing memories of who Jeremiah Rosales once was, and the star he so nearly became.
A STALLED STARDOM
Jeremiah’s first taste of showbiz came in 2003, when he appeared in a supporting role in the "Pawikan" episode of Maalala Mo Kaya that featured Jericho.
He played Caloy, a fisherman who gathers and sells turtle eggs for money.
Two years later, Jeremiah officially entered the entertainment world when he was introduced as one of the 24 fresh faces that composed Star Circle Batch 13.
This June 2005 line-up featured many relatives of established stars including Valeen Montenegro, granddaughter of veteran actors Mario Montenegro and Letty Alonzo; Felix and Dominic Roco, twins sons of Bembol Roco; Lauren Young, sister of Megan Young; Zia Marquez, daughter of Joey Marquez and Brenda del Rio; Mara Lopez, daughter of Maria Isabel Lopez.
The entertainment press agreed that 19-year-old Jeremiah showed promise.
Boy Abunda, writing for The Philippine Star, said many were smitten by his charm and wit.
But Jeremiah’s ascent was abruptly cut short just a month later, when he became the subject of a blind item alleging that he was hiding two children from the public.
After this, a woman named Jane Ethel Gonowan spoke out and confirmed that the blind item was indeed about Jeremiah.
Boy Abunda later revealed the full story in another column for The Philippine Star:
In 2002, 17-year-old Jeremiah fathered a child with 15-year-old Jane, then disappeared, believing he was too young to take on the responsibilities of fatherhood.
This was why Jane later appeared in a television interview—to speak out about what happened.
Boy Abunda praised Jeremiah for tackling the issue head-on.
“Jeremiah didn’t cry and run away. He didn’t hide behind kuya’s name. He came out on The Buzz to admit that yes, he was the one being referred to in the blind item...
"He apologized to his kids and said that he will do the best he can to support them,” wrote the veteran columnist.
MARITAL ISSUES CONTINUE
The marital issues did not end after Jeremiah’s confession at the defunct show The Buzz.
Just over a year later, in September 2006, Jane filed a kidnapping case against Jeremiah and his mother, Rosario Vibar.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was unable to find information on how the case was resolved.
However, it appears they eventually reconciled, as by 2018, Jane went live on Raffy Tulfo’s radio show to complain about Jeremiah once again.
The episode, which was uploaded on YouTube last December 27, 2018, was titled “SIKAT NA AKTOR, GALANTE AT MABAIT SA KANYANG BATUGANG KAPATID!”
At the time, Jane and Jeremiah were living together in a house in Marikina owned by Jericho.
In an interview with Raffy Tulfo, Jane said Jeremiah’s mother kicked her out after she had a fight with him.
She also admitted that she grew tired of working as an online seller while Jeremiah remained lazy and unemployed.
Jane said she sought help from the authorities to retrieve her personal belongings and their eight-year-old child, whom she had left at the house.
“Puwede po bang kami na lang ang mag-usap sa personal po namin, kasi may iniingatan din po ako sir,” he said.
He also admitted that he doesn’t have a job, but claimed he was in charge of household chores.
“Imbento po lahat iyan, Sir,” he added then burst into tears.
The episode ended with a postscript noting that Jane was able to take her child and successfully separate from Jeremiah.
A STRING OF BIT ROLES
The controversies linked to Jeremiah derailed his career trajectory.
His time in the spotlight never truly gained momentum.
Following his official Star Magic launch in 2005, major projects from his management agency failed to materialize, leaving him immediately relegated to a string of bit parts and supporting roles, mostly alongside his brother.
In 2006, he made a brief appearance as a gunshot victim in the indie film Kubrador.
That same year, he took on minor television roles, appearing in the Kapamilya series Gulong ng Palad (starring Kristine Hermosa and TJ Trinidad) and playing the villain Emer in Panday: Ikalawang Yugto, a fantasy series headlined by the popular Jericho Rosales and Heart Evangelista tandem.
In 2007, he secured a supporting role in the "Cellphone" episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
He played Yenyen, a karinderya customer in a romantic relationship with a gay man named Yvonne (played by Joross Gamboa).
The following year, he portrayed Spanish soldier Jaime Caldenay in the historical drama Baler, which was top-billed by his brother Jericho and Anne Curtis.
He then took a hiatus from the limelight until 2012, returning to play another supporting role alongside his brother.
In the indie film Alagwa, Jeremiah played a policeman assisting Jericho’s character in the desperate search for a missing child.
In 2015, Jeremiah began working as a frontman in Talas Manileño, his brother’s barbershop, in Cubao.
The business closed in 2020 due to the pandemic.

In 2018, Jericho stepped in to help boost his brother’s profile, bringing him on as a co-endorser for the Kuya J restaurant chain.
The campaign featured a cinematic four-minute advertisement showing the brothers motorbiking across the scenic countryside.
A complementary video also captured their genuine sibling bond.
Here, they talked about their favorite items, childhood dreams, and love for their family.
The feature culminated in a deeply emotional moment, with Jeremiah almost breaking down in tears as he thanked his brother for helping him throughout the years.
BACK TO REHAB
Jane put out this post following her revelation that Jeremiah went missing on June 21, 2026.
The 42-year-old reportedly left their home in Antipolo City on Father’s Day because he did not want to undergo rehabilitation.
Five days later, his family found him in Batangas.
Jeremiah and Jane’s family is now composed of five children and two godchildren.
They have one child in showbiz—Liana Rosales, who has appeared in several films on VMX.
News of Jeremiah’s drug addiction came as a shock to the public, as he had just gotten out of rehab in June 2025.
He revealed this information in his interview on Julius Babao's YouTube channel in November 2025.
Here, Jeremiah admitted that he started taking drugs in high school.
“Curiosity po. Nung '90s tayo, gangster-gangster tayo,” he said.
He claimed that he stopped taking hard substances when he reached 15 years old, but regained the habit when he turned 20.
It eventually spiraled into full-blown addiction. He used drugs every weekend—a pattern that persisted even while he was attending acting workshops at ABS-CBN.
He said he stopped using hard substances at 15, but relapsed when he turned 20.
He didn’t stop until he was 31.
Something terrible that he chose not to disclose happened at this time, and it made him volunteer himself to go to rehab.
A few years later, he had a problem with his daughter Liana, and that made him take drugs again.
“Ako kasi, gusto ko good vibes lagi, e. Ginagawa ko siyang maskara para matakpan yung mga pangit na nangyayari,” he explained.
BROTHERLY LOVE
Jeremiah candidly admitted that his previous stint in rehab took a heavy toll on his family’s finances.
Thankfully, his older brother intervened by covering his younger brother’s rent and by providing a steady monthly allowance for Jeremiah's wife to keep the family afloat.
Yet, beyond the financial safety net, Jeremiah is most grateful for his brother's emotional steadfastness.
Jericho was right there waiting for him when he was discharged from the rehabilitation facility on June 4, 2025.
“Kuya will back me up, always. Kahit hindi ko takbuhan si Kuya, automatic talaga yun. Kung ano mang mangyari, Kuya ko talaga,” Jeremiah stated, emphasizing the unconditional nature of their bond.
For his part, Jericho has historically preferred actions over words.
Over the years, he has consistently funneled jobs and endorsements to Jeremiah—not merely as handouts, but as stepping stones to help him regain his independence.
As early as a 2011 interview, Jericho explained his philosophy of tough love and empowerment: “I try to give my time, especially kunwari sa younger brother ko, para matuto siyang magsumikap, para matuto siyang tumayo sa sarili niyang paa.”
Now, in the wake of Jeremiah's return to rehab, those words resonate more heavily than ever.
As Jeremiah faces yet another turbulent chapter, the industry expects history to repeat itself—with Jericho quietly stepping in, sponsoring his recovery, and once again helping his brother find his footing.
