Ikinatuwa ni Direk Baby Ruth Villarama na ang aspiring entry ng Pilipinas sa 97th Academy Awards o Oscars para sa Best International Feature Film category ay ang documentary ni Ramona S. Diaz na And So It Begins.

Sabi ni FDCP Chairman Jose Javier Reyes, nangangahulugan iyon na ang “documentary filmmaking is a recognized and respectable and competitive genre.”

“As a documentary filmmaker, nagpapasalamat ako na ibinigay ni Direk Joey po yung comment na ganun,” sabi ni Direk Baby Ruth sa closing ceremony ng 4th Philippine Film Industry Month noong Setyembre 27, 2024, Biyernes, sa Seda Vertis North, Quezon City.

“Coming from a narrative industry, malaking bagay po iyon, at saka iyong suporta na ibinibigay nila sa documentary community.

"It’s not easy to handle real stories but kung meron mang edge ang Pilipinas, we are very rich in stories like this. Stories that you cover.

“But the triumph of the Filipino spirit despite of all the odds, I think that’s the gift that we can give to the world.”

FOOD DELIVERY

“We’re doing this in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines [AFP],” sabi ni Direk Baby Ruth.

So, I’d like to be part of that narrative, and to be part of men and women na storytellers.

“So, ano ba iyong puwede nating maging ambag para hikayatin at magdagdag-inspirasyon sa mga taong bayan on how to be constructive, at kung paano magbigay ng saysay sa ating pagkukuwento.

“Just like Sunday Beauty Queen. I mean, the stories are there 24/7, kuwentong-OFW.

Good luck talaga!!!
