As expected, nanguna sa takilya ng North America last weekend (Hunyo 9-11) ang bagong bukas na Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
$61M lang ang opening weekend gross sa U.S. at Canada ng nasabing sci-fi action film, na ikapitong installment sa live-action film series na Transformers.
Pumangalawa sa takilya ng North America ang dating number one na Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. On its second weekend, humamig ito ng $55.5M.

WORLDWIDE, ang Top 5 sa takilya this year so far ay The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($1.3B), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ($806M), Fast X ($654M), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($476M), at John Wick: Chapter 4 ($428M).
Pasok sa Top 10 for 2023 ang global grosses ng The Little Mermaid ($415M), Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse ($313M), Creed III ($274M), Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves ($208M), at Scream VI ($169M).

Iba-iba ang playdates nito sa international market. Kasabay ng Transformers: Rise of the Beasts na nag-open last Wednesday sa local cinemas ang South Korean film na The Roundup: No Way Out.
Palabas bukas, Hunyo 14, Miyerkules, sa ating mga sinehan ang mga banyagang pelikula na The Flash, Elemental, at Run Rabbit Run.

Masigasig pa rin ang mga film producers natin, lalo na ang mga bago sa paggawa ng pelikula. Kung sumemplang man sa takilya, puwede pa rin nila mabawi sa iba’t ibang streaming services.
Seryoso na rin ang magkaibigang Lorna Tolentino at Sylvia Sanchez, kasama ang partners nila na nagpu-produce din sa kanilang itinayong movie production.

Sisimulan muna nila sa pag-release ng Japanese film na Monster na nakakuha na ng July 19 playdate. Wala rito sa bansa ang mga Japanese actors na bida sa pelikulang ito, kaya silang dalawa muna ang magpu-promote nito.
Isa sa mga araw na ito ay ilulunsad nila ang kanilang production dahil tuluy-tuloy na raw ang pagpu-produce nila.
Bukod sa pelikulang Monster ay nabili rin nila ang Philippine rights ng pelikula ni Arnold Schwarzenegger, yung kay Jackie Chan, ang action-thirller na Cleaner, at isang animated film.
Sisimulan daw muna nila sa pag-release ng foreign films. At kung may magandang material na puwedeng isapelikula, baka ipu-produce din nila.
