Dalawang araw pa ang kailangang ilaan ni Piolo Pascual para sa shooting ng pelikulang Moro ni Direk Brillante Mendoza.
Co-stars dito ni Piolo sina Baron Geisler, Laurice Guillen, Christopher de Leon, Beauty Gonzalez, Felix Roco, Ina Feleo, at Joel Torre.
“Nag-pandemic kaya hindi po namin natapos,” lahad ni Piolo sa Beautederm mediacon noong nakaraang Huwebes, Setyembre 22, sa Luxent Hotel, Timog Ave., Quezon City.
May nagawa ring pelikula si Piolo last year kay Direk Paul Soriano, kung saan co-star niya si Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
Ibinalita rin na na-acquire na ng isang streaming platform ang reunion movie nina Alessandra de Rossi at Empoy Marquez na Walang Ka-Paris, kung saan producer siya.
“It will be shown hopefully before the year ends, sa December,” sambit ni Piolo.
“And then I’m doing three movies, one after the other. Come January until maybe March.
“I was supposed to do one with [director] Irene [Villamor], this is with Bianca Umali. We’re still working on the script.
“And then I have one with Thop Nazareno, and there’s another one… hopefully, there’s an inquiry to do a musical, a show for CCP. Hopefully.”
Gustong magbalik-teatro ni Piolo, kung saan siya nag-umpisa. Nasa bucket list niya ito.
Inaasam niyang maisingit ito sa kanyang schedule. Sa Enero kasi ay may gagawin siyang serye para sa Netflix. Meron ding tinanguan niya sa ABS-CBN.
“Patung-patong po talaga, pero hopefully magawa ko. But I really wanna do this show because when I was in high school, I saw this straight play of Kanser at FEU,” saad ni Piolo.
“It’s now offered to me and I really wanna do it. Hopefully, I get to do it with the given short period of time for rehearsals.”
Kasado na rin ang concert tour nila ni Jericho Rosales sa Nobyembre.
“We’re doing maybe six to eight shows in Canada and the States,” pagbabalita ni Piolo.
“And there’s already one in May. So, I usually do my tour twice a year. Holy Week, Lenten season and Halloween. Ganun pa rin.”
Iba ang energy niya sa live performance, lalo pa’t tila bumabalik na tayo sa normal na kalakaran kahit andiyan pa ang Covid-19.
“Nakaka-excite po especially when I did my tour with Sam [Milby] nitong last April-May,” salaysay ni Piolo.
“Makita mo ang mga tao, ang mga kababayan, medyo you only get to see pag nagtu-tour ka, siyempre especially ang mga TFC viewers natin na sabik makakita ng local act.
“Ang sarap ng experience. Iba pa rin ang experience ng concert.”
Andaming artista na gustong makatambal o makatrabaho si Piolo. Siya ba, merong artista na gusto ring makatrabaho?
“Marami po. Marami po, si Ate Guy [National Artist Nora Aunor] nga, hindi ko pa nakakatrabaho, e,” pagtatapat ni Piolo.
“And also Janine Gutierrez, I haven’t worked with her. It was a blessing that I got to work with Lovi Poe na napakagaling.
“And then I was talking to Bea [Alonzo], I hope we get to do something again. And even with Jericho [Rosales], I mean you know my peers in the industry.
“Even with Anne Curtis. Napakaliit ng industriya, sana maka-partner ko sila, even with Maja [Salvador]. Mga ganun, na magagaling talaga.”
Sa pagdiriwang ng ika-13 anibersaryo ng Beautéderm Corporation, pormal na inilunsad si Piolo bilang ambassador oral care essentials na Koreisu Family Toothpaste at Koreisu Whitening Toothpaste.

Tinututukan namin ang Kapamilya teleseryeng Flower of Evil.
Mahusay sina Lovi Poe at Paulo Avelino sa palabas, pero ang nagdadala niyon ay si Piolo na napakagaling bilang Daniel Villareal, aka Jacob del Rosario.
Ramdam na ramdam namin ang lalim at nuances ng karakter ni Piolo, lalo na kapag nahihirapan na siya.
“Actually, it was really hard for me doing the series because there were instances I couldn’t show my emotions because of the limitations of the character,” pag-amin ni Piolo.
“So there were some takes that we had to cut because either sumosobra ako, or I was given too much emotions. It was really hard to do it.”
Na-enjoy ni Piolo ang bubble life sa lock-in taping, kung saan marami silang natatapos na eksena.
“When they pitched the sitcom My Papa Pi, nasa bahay lang po ako. Medyo bored na akong maghalaman,” pagtatapat ni Piolo.
“So it [Flower of Evil] came at the right time. And should there be another show or should there be another series or a concept na magustuhan natin, of course, I’m not keeping my doors closed.”
Naging plantito rin siya nitong pandemic!
“Kanina galing ako sa bahay, what we’re doing since plants are really generous in terms of growing, ahh, I’m able to propagate my plants and transplant,” pagtatapat ni Piolo.
“Kasi sa sobrang dami nila, kailangan ko nang i-distribute. So kanina, yung bakod naman namin, nilagyan ko ng mga cactus at iba-ibang klaseng halaman para mas mapuno.
“Ang sarap maghalaman. It’s a therapy for me. And when you see them blossom, when you see them grow, mapapa-smile ka. Nakakawala ng pagod.”

Balita ring may next season pa ang My Papa Pi sitcom nila ni Pia Wurtzbach pero baka next year na rin.
Pero wow kung matutuloy ang pagbabalik teatro ni Piolo, ha! Isa iyan sa mga suggestion kong kailangang pagdaanan ng kahit sinong artista, ang mag-teatro.
Hindi na bago iyan kay Piolo na kabilang sa Teatro Tomasino noong college siya at panibagong hamon sa career niya ang pagteteatro muli.
