Mag-i-streaming ito sa Facebook page ng Gabay Guro at YouTube channel na PLDT Gabay Guro. Ang tema ng event ay “Guro sa Gitna ng Pandemya: Heroes for Digital Transformation.”
Kapuso man o Kapamilya, Kapatid o kung ano pa man, magsasanib-puwersa sa online gathering na ito kung saan pagpupugayan ang mga guro.
Magpapasiklab sa grand opening sina Sam Concepcion, Rayver Cruz, Elmo Magalona, at Quest.
Tampok sa Band hits medley sina Nyoy Volante, Bugoy, Davey Langit, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, The Itchyworms, at Randy Santiago. Magpapakitang-gilas sa Side A/Neocolours sina Mark Bautista, Jeremy Glinoga, Jason Dy, Poppert Bernales, at Christian Bautista.
Manghaharana sa acoustic guitar medley sina Janine Teñoso, Barbie Almalbis, Ice Seguerra, at Yeng Constantino. Kapana-panabik ang ballads nina Jose Mari Chan, Martin Nievera, Nonoy Zuniga, at Basil Valdez.
Payanig ang medley of songs nina Vina Morales, Lara Maigue, Klarisse de Guzman, Aicelle Santos at Bituin Escalante.
May testimonial at medley sina Awra Briguela, Rhap Salazar, iDOLLS, at Wacky Kiray. Pasabog ang P-pop number ng BINI at BGYO.
Kaabang-abang din ang Divas medley nina Morissette, Joey Albert, Gigi De Lana, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jona, Kuh Ledesma, Kyla, Regine Velasquez, Angeline Quinto, at Sharon Cuneta.
NO SHARON-GABBY DUET THIS TIME
Kapansin-pansing wala sa line-up ng mga panauhing performers si Gabby Concepcion. So, walang Sharon-Gabby duet sa Sabado.
Matatandaang noong 2019 ay nag-duet sina Sharon at Gabby sa show ng Gabay Guro noon.
"Actually, he was supposed to host. It just so happened na meron siyang live ano sa October 2,” sambit ni Chaye Cabal-Revilla sa virtual mediacon nitong Setyembre 30, Huwebes.
Si Miss Chaye ang chairperson ng Gabay Guro, at siya ring Chief Finance Officer at Chief Sustainability Officer ng Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC).
Ipinaliwanag naman ni Eloisa Matias na hirap din si Gabby sa wifi connection sa tirahan nito sa Batangas.
Si Miss Eloisa ang punong-abala sa takbo ng programa ng Gabay Guro 2021, na handog ng PLDT Smart Foundation, katuwang ang Metro Pacific Investments Corp. at PLDT Home.
Paliwanag ni Eloisa: "Gabby has also problems with the wifi. Di ba, nandoon siya sa resort ba niya or something? Remember, pag kailangan mong tawagan si Gabby, bababa pa siya ng city para sa wifi.
"So, to ask him to record, and then send, and upload, and download, and… Kasi, usually when we ask them to record, dalawang steps iyan, iyong challenges na ganito. Dalawang steps yan. Kailangan namin sila, lahat ng artista, ipa-record iyong audio muna. And then they send it to me.
"And then we mix it dun sa minus one, send it back to them para maka-lip synch sila. And then they upload, and download, and send me the video again. So, ganun kahirap yung process nitong online, virtual concert.
"So, for people who are in provinces, yung mga nasa Tanay, yung mga nagsu-shoot, it’s very challenging."
Baka mahirapan lang daw sa requirements para sa gagawing video si Gabby.
Dagdag ni Eloisa: "Ahhm, just to give you an example, yung BGYO and BINI, ‘no? They have a really awesome production number na syinut nila.
"Yung nag-e-edit, nasa probinsya. It took him seven hours just to upload the entire musical number, na kahapon pa yung deadline niya, nakuha ko kaninang 5:00 a.m. lang.
"So, yun yung challenge kay Gabby… Dun sa birthday show for MVP, kinuha namin si Gabby na mag-AVP. Tapos, hindi niya nakuha yung message. Tapos na yung party ni MVP, tapos na yung show, dun lang siya nag-submit ng video niya…
"So, that’s the challenge kay Gabby—not of any other reason, na we don’t want him in a number. Yun yung problem sa kanya."
Singit ni Miss Chaye, "But he did agree sa hosting, supposedly. Kaya lang, merong conflict sa October 2."
Kaya hindi na rin daw nila pinagsama sina Sharon at Gabby
Sabi pa ni Miss Eloisa, "And for Sharon also, di ba, she left to the U.S. again? When we asked her to be part of this, biglaan, meron lang siyang two days to do the prod number. Two days. Tapos, she had to leave na.
"So, hindi namin ma-adjust, kung may duet sila ni Gabby, kung magpapalit ng number."

Magpi-fifteen years na ang Gabay Guro, at kahit two years nang nasa pandemya, nagagawan pa rin ng paraang makaabot ng suporta sa ating mga guro.
Kagaya ngayong halos lahat ay idinadaan na lang sa digital, sinusubukan nilang maturuan ang mga guro sa digitalization. Kailangan siyempreng mag-adjust sa panahon ngayon, sa bagong set-up.
Sabi nga ni Ms. Chaye ng Gabay Guro, "One of the challenges na ina-address natin ngayon is yung… even from last year we still continue to do so now is digitalization.
"Kasi, some of our more senior teachers are not digital savvy, di ba? One of the challenges talaga yun.
"Ang kagandahan nun, when we launched our Gabay Guro app, yung young generation of teachers, we trained them to use the app at sila na rin yung nagtuturo digitally sa mga more senior teachers.
"Nakaka-touch yun na even if they don’t know each other, they’re able to coach each other and learn from each other.
"For the Gabay Guro team, we also have the Saturday and Sunday digitalization training."
Nakikitang hindi hadlang ang pandemya sa pagbigay tulong sa mga guro. Kaya kahit ang mga kilalang celebrities, kapag para sa Gabay Guro, bukas sila sa pagtulong.
Hindi pinag-uusapan ang talent fee, basta maging bahagi lang sa mga activities ng naturang foundation. Mas star-studded nga ngayon, at punung-puno ng mga stars na tiyak na ikakatuwa ng ating mga guro.
Special mention pa si Sir Noel sa mediacon kanina, dahil sa ibinigay niya ang mga alaga niyang sina Iza at Atom para mag-host sa naturang event.
Isa rin pala sa hosts si Derek Ramsay na nakatakda nang ikasal kay Ellen Adarna.
Isa yata sa magnininang si Ms. Chaye Cabal-Revilla na siyempre, hindi niya puwedeng i-share kung kailan ang kasal.

Since 2007, Gabay Guro has been empowering teachers across the country through its seven (7) core pillars: Classroom Donations, Connectivity and Computerization, Scholarships, Teachers’ Trainings, Livelihood Projects, Digital Innovation? and the Teacher’s Tribute.
Gabay Guro has built and donated over 55 double classrooms in 18 cities and municipalities nationwide. It has also provided 1,988 scholarship grants where 1,063 have graduated, of which 30% graduated with honors.
It has also distributed more than 500 computers/ laptops among 16 municipalities nationwide.
