Supreme Court creates channel for judicial corruption complaints

How to report corruption involving "justices, judges, and court personnel"

The Department of Justice launches a direct channel called integrity@judiciary.gov.ph, where the public can send actionable information on violations of corruption laws and ethics rules involving justices, judges, and court personnel.

Madali nang mag-report ng mga katiwalian ng mga opisyal ng justice system.

Inilunsad ng Supreme Court ang isang channel na maaring gamitin ng publiko para magpadala ng "information on violation of corruption laws and ethics rules" na kinasasangkutan ng "justices, judges, and court personnel.”

Ito ay ayon sa Supreme Court of the Philippines website na naglabas ng impormasyon noong June 19, 2024.

Sa bisa ng Memorandum Order No. 72-2024, nilikha ang integrity@judiciary.gov.ph para ma-address ang katiwalian ng mga personnel ng judiciary branch of government.

Kung may impormasyon ukol sa tiwaling gawain ng mga opisyal sa korte, maaaring ipadala ito sa integrity@judiciary.gov.ph.

Inilista rin ang violations na kabilang sa maaaring i-report. Ito ay ang mga sumusunod:

  1. extortion of money, gift or favor from any litigant or counsel of any party in exchange for any result;
  2. extortion of money, gift or favor from any litigant or counsel for the service of any process including warrants, summons, writs of execution;
  3. extortion of money, gift or favor from any litigant or counsel for any activity of judges, Justices, or court personnel;
  4. extortion of money, gift or favor to gain inside information on the progress of any case, including the name of the ponente in any appellate court, including the Supreme Court; and
  5. names and activities of any influence peddler who claims influence in any court.

SUPREME COURT'S CHANNEL AND ADDITIONAL REMINDERS

Pinaalalahanan din ang publiko na, dahil ang pag-report ng ganitong impormasyon ay puwedeng maging basehan ng entrapment operations, makabubuting iwasan ang premature posting sa social media.

Ito ay upang hindi mabulilyaso ang imbestigasyon at nang mahuli ang violators.

Nagbabala rin ang Supreme Court na “lawyers who participate, advise, or tolerate any form of corruption shall be dealt with severely.”

Ang impormasyong ipapadala sa integrity@judiciary.gov.ph ay accessible sa Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court.

Ito ay pinamumunuan ni Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, kasama si Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen bilang working vice-chairperson.

Maaari ring magsumite ng confidential complaints ang publiko sa Chief Justice, sa Senior Associate Justice, or kahit sa sinong husgado ng Supreme Court.

Ang whistleblowers na may credible information ay bibigyan ng proper protection ng korte.

Ipinost din ng sa Supreme Court website ang full text ng Memorandum Order No. 72-2024.
