Mandatory ang discount para sa Senior Citizens (SC) at Persons With Disability (PWD) sa kanilang online transactions (e-commerce) at mobile applications.
Ito ang iginiit ni Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. ngayong Miyerkules, August 2, 2023.
“Entitled po kayo sa senior citizen discount or PWD discount sa mga online transactions na ginagawa po natin,” ani Lumagui sa isang video via Facebook.

Sa karaniwang proseso kasi, kinakailangan ng pirma ng senior citizen at PWD sa invoice o resibo para maka-avail ng discount sa mga purchases o services mula sa establishments.
“Dahil laganap na po ang online transactions na hindi naman tayo nakakapirma ay nag-issue tayo ng Revenue Regulations [RR] para naman ma-entitle kayo sa mga discount na ito, na hindi na kinakailangan pumirma pa sa invoices," ani Lumagui.
Pero paalala niya, “Kailangan lang po ay ipakita ang valid senior citizen ID at ang inyong PWD card.”

Ang mandato, ani Lumagui, ay nakasaad sa Revenue Regulations 8-2023.
Nakapaskil sa Facebook page ng BIR ang nilalaman ng RR 8-2023.
Binabanggit dito na hindi na required ang pirma ng senior citizen o PWD sa online transactions.
“Nonetheless, the SC/PWD Identification Card number should still be provided by the SC/PWD when purchasing through online or mobile platforms...
"And the rules on entitlement to the benefits of the SC/PWD and to the tax deduction… and to future issuances pertaining to SC/PWD purchases through online or mobile applications, shall be strictly followed.”
Sinabi Lumagui na ang hakbang na ito ay bahagi ng “programang makapagpahatid ng excellent taxpayers service sa ating mga taxpayers.”
