Nagbukas ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ng passport appointment slots para sa buwan ng June hanggang September 2022.
Inihayag ito ni Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido Dulay sa isang tweet noong June 3.
Ang tweet ni Dulay: "Following the order of SFA [Teodoro Locsin Jr.] to ease the passport backlog, we’ve opened more appointment slots in all our 36 consular offices and 20 TOPS [temporary off-site passport service] sites nationwide.
"There are now available slots this June all to way to Sept. 2022. No need to wait."
Wala namang binanggit ang DFA kung ilang slots ang maibibigay nito kada araw.
Tiniyak naman nito na ginagawa ang lahat ng hakbang para mas makapaghatid ng mas magandang serbisyo sa publiko, kabilang ang pagdadagdag ng temporary off-site passport service centers.
Iniimbestigahan na rin ng DFA ang mga fixers na nagbebenta ng appointment slots.
Nasampahan na nito ng reklamo ang dalawang recruitment agencies, ang Canferz Payment and Ticketing Center at ang Valesco-SMS Inc., na ilegal na nag-dsitribute at kumita mula sa pagbebenta ng passport appointment slots sa mga overseas Filipino workers via social media.
