Angel Castro na ang bagong screen name ni Claire Castro, ang dating contract star ng Sparkle GMA Artist Center at anak ng newscaster na si Diego Castro at ng dating aktres na si Raven Villanueva.
Kasabay ng pagpapalit niya ng screen name ay ang pagsabak ni Angel sa pagpapaseksi sa pamamagitan ng VMX.
Hindi na umano siya nag-renew ng kontrata sa talent management arm ng Kapuso network.
Ayon kay Angel, alam ng ama niyang si Diego na pipirma siya ng kontrata sa Viva, pero wala raw itong kamalay-malay na papasok siya sa VMX.
Saad ng 27-year-old actress: “To be honest, I told them I was joining Viva, but they thought Viva One.
“Kasi ang akala ko naman po talaga, Viva One and Vivamax. Sadyang nauna lang po yung Vivamax.
“But he probably knows already because he sees on my Instagram. So, wala na din po siyang magagawa.
“Siyempre, I make my own money, I live alone. I am much older.
"So, I don’t think he has any qualms about it and he knows it’s acting. It’s not real.
"There’s not anything real about the scene. Daya-daya lang po yon."

ANGEL CASTRO ON REASON FOR CHANGING HER SCREEN NAME
Inamin ni Angel na nagpalit siya ng screen name dahil kapangalan niya si Atty. Claire Castro, ang undersecretary ng Presidential Communications Office.
Saad niya: “Not to go too much into it, but there is another person named Claire Castro.
"So, if you search her name, hindi mo makikita yung stint ko sa GMA, yung mga work ko. Natabunan po.
"So, I changed into my real name which is Angelica.”
Sa muling pagbabalik niya sa showbiz bilang Angel Castro, naniniwala si Angel na handang-handa na siya at hindi na magpapaapekto sa mga intriga, lalo na sa online bashing na kanyang naranasan noong contract star pa siya ng Kapuso network.
Aniya: “I did not renew. To be honest, wala talaga akong planong mag-showbiz uli.
"It’s just chance happening and this time, I felt right because I am much older now. I’m much more ready.
“At the time, I wasn’t really ready because hindi ko kinaya yung bashing.
"Hindi ko kinaya yung roles, sobrang bigat. Sobrang nakakapagod.
"But now I feel like I’m more so ready kahit saan. Isalang ninyo ako kahit saan.
“I think I can do it now more than before since I am much more older, much more wiser.
“I feel like my acting has improved from before. Kasi dati talaga, masasabi ko hindi talaga.
"Siguro, hindi ko pa kapa masyado. May mga eksena na okay, may mga eksena na hindi.
"Ngayon, mas kapa ko na siya. Now that I’m older, I feel like may mas bagahe ako for certain things, so may pinaghuhugutan ako."
Dagdag pa niya: “To be honest, with the love scenes, hindi ako kinabahan at all.
"Parang wala lang kasi wala naman tao sa room. Just the cameraman, the assistant director.
"So, I wasn’t really scared to do the love scene. And also, I’m very comfortable with my body, so it was no big deal.”

MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
Hindi itinanggi ni Angel na nagkaroon siya ng mental health issues nang gumanap siyang kontrabida sa Nagbabagang Luha, ang afternoon drama series ng GMA-7 na napanood mula Agosto 2, 2021 hanggang Oktubre 23, 2021.
Pagtatapat niya: “During nag-air na po siya, siyempre ang daming haters, death threats, whatever.
"Lahat na lang ng mali sa akin, nakikita nila. Kahit yung mga hindi ko nakikita sa sarili ko, nakikita nila.
“So, I went to a shrink and I got diagnosed with depression, and I had to take medicine for it. Hindi ko po talaga kinaya.
"But now, I feel like I am much older, much more fierce.
"And if you say something bad about me, I’m not gonna believe you or even if totoong may bad about me, wala akong paki. Basta I’m happy with myself.
"I have recovered, I took two years off and I feel like I really needed it.”
IS ANGEL CASTRO THE NEXT VMX QUEEN?
Ano ang masasabi niya sa paniniwala na siya na ang "Next VMX Queen"?
“Wow, gusto ko yon!" sambit niya.
"It’s a big praise na people are saying that kahit papaano, and I am very, very excited for my future.”
Nilinaw naman ni Angel na walang kumpetisyon sa kanila ng ibang VMX stars dahil magkakaibigan daw sila.
