Malaki ang posibilidad na may kinalaman ang inilabas na pahayag ng Miss Universe Organization (MUO) sa social media post ni dating Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson noong Biyernes, Enero 2, 2025.
Saad ni Singson sa kanyang post: “For everyone’s information: MUO is not owned anymore by Anne Jakrajutatip or Raul Rocha Cantú. In fact, they both have arrest warrants against them!
"Thank you Shawn for visiting us! We look forward to having discussions with the rightful owners, the creditors they defrauded."
Kalakip ng post ni Singson ang larawan nila ng kanyang anak na si Congresswoman Richelle Singson, kasama si Shawn McLain, ang dating vice-president for Marketing and Business Development ng MUO.
Ang post ni Singson ay nagpalakas sa mga haka-hakang siya na ang susunod na may-ari ng Miss Universe.

MISS UNIVERSE ORGANIZATION STATEMENT
Agad na sinagot ng kasalukuyang pamunuan ng MUO ang kontrobersiyal na usapin sa pamamagitan ng isang official statement.
Ayon sa kanila, "false and misleading" ang mga kumakalat na balita.
Buong pahayag ng MUO: “The Miss Universe Organization is entering an important chapter in its history as it prepares to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Miss Universe competition, a milestone that reflects decades of global influence, cultural relevance, and an enduring commitment to empowerment.
“As part of this historic moment, the organization will continue to highlight initiatives, plans, and activities developed in collaboration with its global partners and stakeholders.
“The organization also finds it necessary to address recent false and misleading statements regarding its ownership and leadership.
"These statements have been made seeking to misrepresent ownership, falsely suggest acquisition or purchasing opportunities, and create confusion.
“Such actions appear designed to deceive the public, improperly solicit investments, and exploit the Miss Universe brand for personal benefit, visibility, or advantage.
"In response, the Miss Universe Organization states clearly and unequivocally:
"The Miss Universe Organization remains under its current ownership and leadership.
“The Miss Universe Organization is actively reviewing these matters with its legal advisors and will take all appropriate and necessary steps to address and prevent further false, misleading, or unauthorized actions or statements.
"The organization remains committed to protecting its integrity, its partners,and the public from deception or misuse of its name, brand and reputation.
“As the organization moves forward, it does so with the same vision, leadership,and long-term commitment that have guided its growth and success. This continuity remains fundamental to the organization’s mission, values, and strategic direction.
“The Miss Universe Organization encourages the public, partners, and members of the media to rely solely on its official channel for accurate and verified information.
"Updates regarding the organization,including matters related to leadership and structure, are published exclusively on the official website at www.missuniverse.com.”
