Naglabas ng opisyal na pahayag ngayong Sabado, Setyembre 14, 2024, ang Presidential Communications Office (PCO) tungkol sa kumpirmado at pribadong pagtatanghal ng Duran Duran sa 67th birthday party ni President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. noong Friday the 13th sa Marriott Hotel, Pasay City.
Ang Duran Duran ang sikat na English New Wave band noong dekada ’80 na nagpasikat sa mga awitin gaya ng “Wild Boys,” “Rio,” “A View to a Kill,” “The Reflex,” at “Save a Prayer.”

May mga bumabatikos sa tahimik na pagdating sa Pilipinas ng Duran Duran at ang pagtatanghal nito sa pagdiriwang ng kaarawan ni Marcos Jr., noong Biyernes, Setyembre 13, 2024.
Ang mga batikos ang posibleng dahilan kaya naglabas ng official statement ang PCO tungkol sa mga paglilingkod na ginawa ni Marcos, Jr. sa kanyang kaarawan.
Diumano, nasorpresa ang pangulo dahil hindi nito alam na inimbitahan para magtanghal ang Duran Duran sa birthday party niya.
“The President spent his birthday as just another busy day in the office, with the same dedication to his job that has marked his presidency.
“He traveled hundreds of kilometers to grant farmers a condonation of their debts and gifted them with a new financing program that will boost farm yields and farmers’ incomes.
“He ordered the payment of the bills incurred that day by qualified patients in third-level DOH hospitals.
“He opened the gates of Malacañang, where food booths awaited people from all walks of life who came from near and far to greet him a happy birthday.
“The President celebrated his birthday with his signature compassion for the needy and the sick, and his deep appreciation for the farmers who feed the nation.
“After a tiring day filled with official engagements, he attended a party thrown by his old friends at a hotel in Pasay, and to his surprise and appreciation, music was provided by Duran Duran,” ang pahayag ng PCO tungkol sa iniintriga na pagdiriwang ng kaarawan ng pangulo dahil sa espesyal na partisipasyon ng Duran Duran na maaaring imbitahin sa pamamagitan ng pakikipag-ugnayan sa Celebrity Talent International, isang booking agency na nasa likod ng pag-produce ng mga concerts at events, gaya ng NBC's Superbowl.
Nakasaad sa website ng Celebrity Talent International na mula US$750,000 hanggang US$999,998 ang minimun fee range ng pagtatanghal sa Amerika ng Duran Duran na tumatanggap ng mga corporate event, fundraiser at private party.
May paliwanag din ang CTI tungkol sa ilang mga katanungan tungkol sa talent fee ng Duran Duran na maaaring makapagbigay ng kasagutan sa mga nais na malaman ng mga Pilipino.
“The final Duran Duran booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will Duran Duran charge for an event.
“An example fee to book Duran Duran is in the starting range of $750,000-$999,998. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example.
“Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear.
“Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.”
