Ginulat ng dating child star na si Atascha Mercado si Viva Entertainment big boss Vic del Rosario dahil sa kanyang desisyong i-reinvent ang sarili bilang Vivamax star.
May dahilan para magulat ang mga boss ng Viva at ang mga magulang ni Atascha dahil nag-umpisa ang kanyang acting career bilang child commercial model, child star, at singer.

Mula sa Atascha Mercado, ang gamit na niya ngayong screen name bilang Vivamax star ay Ataska.
Sa edad na pito, naging grand winner si Ataska sa Bidang Bata, ang talent search program noon ng QTV 11 na nagsilbing daan para lumabas siya sa mga teleserye ng GMA-7.
Si Ataska ang gumanap na batang LJ Reyes sa Time of Your Life, ang danserye ng Kapuso Network noong 2011.

Ginampanan niya ang karakter ng nakababatang kapatid ni James Reid sa 2018 Philippine adaptation ng South Korean film na Miss Granny na pinagbidahan ni Sarah Geronimo.

In-demand commercial model si Ataska noong bata pa siya at ang shampoo ad na "Uno, Dos, Tres, Kuwarto" na ginawa niya ang isa sa mga tumatak nang husto sa publiko.

THE BIG DECISION
Kumakanta at nagsusulat ng mga awit si Ataska tulad ng "Marupok," ang OST ng pelikulang The Ship Show.
Kaya malaking sorpresa para sa mga tao sa paligid niya ang kanyang pasyang maging Vivamax star.

Paliwanag ni Ataska, “I thought, like, really long hard about it. It’s really, like, about a year na pinag-isipan ko.
"And that was the time na nagho-host ako ng mga Zoom presscon ng Viva Films.
"I’ve always wanted to focus on acting because people know me as a singer.
"Pero I saw Vivamax as an opportunity to explore something new, something different from what everyone has seen from me.
"I guess it’s parang evolution, growth."
Ang mapangahas na desisyon ni Ataska ang nagpabago sa takbo ng buhay niya dahil iba ang plano para sa kanya ng Viva Artists Agency, ang talent management arm ng Viva Entertainment na namamahala sa career ng 22-year-old singer-actress.
Lahad niya, “Before, they wanted me to be a Pop Princess. I was their baby girl.
"When I proposed the idea sa mga boss, pati sila nagulat, ‘Bakit mo naman naisip ‘yan?’
“But it was really a career move for me. I wanted to expand and I wanted to try something new. Wala akong regrets.
“My parents, siyempre, at first, when I told them about it, kasi I’m very close to my parents...
"I’m an only child. They’ve always been very supportive of my career.
"And when I told them about it, parang hesistant sila.
“I have to discuss it with them why I wanted to make this decision and it’s really, like, for my career talaga.
"As an actress, I would like to challenge myself and try iba-ibang roles."

SUPPORTIVE PARENTS
Lubos ang pasasalamat ni Atasha dahil naunawaan ng kanyang mga magulang ang desisyon niyang sumabak sa sexy movies ng Vivamax.
Saad niya, “At first, I actually made my mom watch my first movie. Pero siyempre, ini-skip niya yung maseselan na eksena.
"Just so we could, like, talk about my acting din as well because I wanted to ask for her feedback, like, sa ibang mga nagawa ko. Pero they always skip the sexy scenes, of course.
“Pero lately, hindi ko na maipakita sa kanila kasi sobrang sexy na talaga ng mga ginagawa ko. Pero nakukuwento ko sa kanila yung story, yung experience sa shoots."
Ikinabigla naman ng mga co-star at production staff ng sexy movies na ginagawa ni Ataska dahil isinasama nito sa set ang kanyang ama.
“And yung dad ko ang laging nakabantay sa akin sa mga shoot.
"Nagugulat nga yung team kasi parang, wow, sobrang supportive ng daddy, ‘coz I know how hard it’s for him na I’m doing these kind of films.
"But I’m very grateful na they’re still very supportive of me," lahad ni Ataska.
