Si Andrew Ramsay ang itinanghal na best actor sa 60th Asian Pacific Film Festival na ginanap sa Macau, China, noong Disyembre 2, 2023.
Pero hindi siya nakadalo dahil sa biyahe nila ng pamilya niya sa Europe kaya ang award-winning cinematographer at direktor na si Rain Yamson II ang tumanggap ng parangal para sa kanya.
Nanalo si Andrew para sa Ginhawa, ang kanyang debut feature film.
Si Andrew ay nakababatang kapatid ng aktor ding si Derek Ramsay.

Bilang isang baguhang aktor, hindi siya makapaniwala sa kanyang tagumpay.
“At first, I was genuinely surprised because, despite receiving nominations for acting awards at several film festivals and honorary organizations, I hadn't clinched a win,” kuwento ni Andrew nang makausap siya ng Cabinet Files ngayong Biyernes ng gabi, Disyembre 15, 2021.
“When Rain Yamson II called me during my family trip in Europe, inviting me to the 60th Asia Pacific Film Festival, I had to politely decline, thinking, 'Interesting, but winning seems unlikely.'
“Upon returning to Manila, Rain called again, revealing that I had won the Best Actor award. It felt like a surreal moment, finally gaining recognition for my acting.
“I deeply appreciate the acknowledgment and feel honored that the jury was moved by my performance.
"I immediately shared the exciting news with my family and friends, and their overwhelming joy was truly heartwarming!
"Winning this award fulfills a long-held dream, and the feeling is simply indescribable."
Lubos ang pasasalamat ni Andrew sa movie producer na si Ferdy Lapuz dahil malaki ang kinalaman nito kaya napasakamay niya ang karakter na kanyang ginampanan sa Ginhawa.
Saad ng newbie actor, “Ferdy Lapuz consistently provides audition opportunities, and I hope these auditions materialize into future projects.
“Currently featured in Batang Quiapo, I'm optimistic that one of these auditions might pave the way for a mainstream movie in the upcoming year.”
Ano ang kanyang mga plano para sa 2024.
Sagot ni Andrew, “My plan for 2024 is to work diligently, focusing on creating positive momentum in my life through more acting projects because nothing brings me greater joy.
“My interest in acting was sparked by my brother Derek, who used to take me to sets, where I was amazed at the synchronized work of the cast and crew.
“My passion intensified during high school theatre in 2010, and since then, I've studied and performed various acting styles, applying those lessons to my work today."

Dahil hindi siya nakadalo sa gabi ng parangal ng 60th Asian Pacific Film Festival, inalam namin kay Andrew ang kanyang acceptance speech kung sakaling sinipot niya ang naturang pagtitipon.
