Hindi pa tapos ang coronavirus pandemic at marami pang mga problema ng Pilipinas na higit karapat-dapat pagtuunan ng pansin.
Kaya tila hindi makakatulong sa kauumpisa pa lamang na administrasyon ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang inihain na House Bill No. 610 ni Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr.
Ito ay ang panukalang palitan ng "Ferdinand E. Marcos International Airport" ang pangalan ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
"An Act Renaming the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Ferdinand E. Marcos International Airport" ang Section 1 ng House Bill na isinusulong ni Teves Jr.
Si Ferdinand E. Marcos ay ang ama ni President Marcos Jr. na naging Pangulo ng Pilipinas sa loob ng mahigit 20 taon, mula December 1965 hanggang February 1986.
Nakasaad sa Section 2 nito ang effectivity clause na "This act shall take effect fifteen [15] days after its complete publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two [2] newspapers of general circulation whichever comes first."
May explanatory note din si Teves Jr. tungkol sa House Bill No.610.
Aniya, “In 1987, Manila International Airport [MIA] was renamed Ninoy Aquino International Airport [NAIA] during the term of the late President Cory Aquino through Republic Act No. 6639. The name was based on her late husband, Ninoy Aquino, who was assassinated at the airport.
“It is more appropriate to rename it to the person who has contributed to the idea and execution of the said noble project. This project was done during the time of the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
“It is more appropriate to bear the name that has contributed and legacy in our country to make the Philippines a center of international and domestic air travel, who has instituted and built or conceptualized the project in making pride of our country.
“In view of the foregoing, approval of this bill is highly and earnestly recommended.”
Taliwas sa paniniwala ni Teves, ang construction ng NAIA (dating MIA) ay nagsimula noong termino ni dating Pangulong Manuel Roxas noong 1947. Samantalang ang Terminal 2 ay natapos noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Elpidio Quirino noong 1953.
Ibig sabihin, fully operational na ang NAIA nang umupo sa puwesto si President Marcos Sr.
Sa tarmac ng dating MIA (Terminal 1) pinaslang si dating Senador Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, ang mister ni Cory Aquino, noong August 21, 1983.
Si Teves ang ama ni Kurt Matthew Teves, ang board member ng Negros Oriental na nagbitiw sa tungkulin noong March 23, 2022 dahil sa panununtok, pagpapaluhod, at pagtutok niya ng baril sa sa BF Homes Las Piñas City security guard na si Jomar Pajares.

Nagalit si Kurt Matthew nang hindi siya papasukin ni Pajares sa BF Homes dahil walang residential sticker ang kanyang sasakyan kahit nagpakilala siyang anak ng congressman.
Hindi naitanggi ni Kurt Matthew ang insidente dahil malinaw na mapapanood sa viral video mula sa CCTV ng subdivision ang ginawa niya kay Pajares.
Kinondena ng maraming mga Pilipino ang inasal na ito ng anak ni Congressman Teves Jr.
Nagsampa ng kaso laban kay Kurt Matthew ang Las Piñas Police noong March 30.
Kinumpirma ni Las Piñas Police Chief Col. Jaime Santos na physical injuries, grave threats, at violation ng Omnibus Election Code ang mga kasong isinampa ng tanggapan niya laban sa anak ni Teves Jr.
Nagdaos ng isang press conference si Kurt Matthew noong March 23 para humingi ng paumanhin sa kanyang biktima.
