Ruru Madrid is Gabbi Garcia's first love in Wagas

This Saturday, relive “first love” memories in Wagas as it presents another inspiring real love story featuring Ruru Madrid and Gabbi Garcia, GMA-7’s fast-rising love team.



Gabbi portrays the role of Aleine Camino, whose first diary entry dates back to the day she first met her crush Anjo Robrigado, Ruru’s character. A school transferee and a basketball player, Anjo took no notice of the geeky-looking Aleine.

Still, Aleine did whatever she can to get Anjo’s attention—from bringing water for Anjo’s entire basketball team to asking him to be her group mate for school projects. Aleine even kept a candy wrapper from one time Anjo gave their class some sweets.

Aleine believed she was an “ugly duckling" then that’s why she could not get her crush to pay her attention. But she soon bloomed to be a beautiful lady, attracting suitors here and there. Luckily, she had her heart reserved only for Anjo. It was not before high school ended when they became a couple.


College tested their relationship, though. They went to different schools, took up different courses, and got themselves employed in different companies which led to their mutual decision to break up.


Still, fate managed to find its way. Aleine and Anjo found each other again and were reunited.


It may be true as the say, nothing beats one’s first love.
