As stimulating as its contradictory title sounds, GMA-7's latest primetime soap, Love and Lies, hits Philippine television beginning April 8, Monday. The "suspenserye" promises to deliver "fast-paced" drama replete with gripping action scenes that were meticulously shot at Sangley Point, Cavite, where the Philippine Navy SEALS (sea, air, land) is based.
Love and Lies, directed by Mark Reyes, tells the story of Edward Galvez (Richard Gutierrez), a Philippine Navy officer, and his search for his abducted wife Cathy (Michelle Madrigal). In his journey, Edward crosses paths with Denise (Bella Padilla), whose brother's loss (and eventual death) is connected with Cathy's case. The plot's riveting twists and turns will reveal the untruths in the story and depict love as its main theme.
In the course of its 9-week run, Love and Lies will expose life in the navy in full detail, from their practises and routine to their action-filled lives. The series also stars Sid Lucero, Paolo Contis, Neil Ryan Sese, Miguel Tanfelix, Protégé champs Jeric Gonzales and Thea Tolentino, also Bobby Andrews, Melissa de Leon, Lloyd Samartino, Luz Valdez, and Jon Hall.
