Doc Ferds Recio and Kiko Rustia head to Bicol this Wednesday, November 17, for two separate Born to be Wild assignments.
In Sorsogon, there are reports of manta rays inadvertently getting trapped in fish cages. Some of these rays are juvenile, and have little chance of surviving once caught. To prevent the unnecessary deaths of mantas, a group of volunteer divers regularly checks on these animals.
Doc Ferds joins the team for a manta survey and is immediately greeted by three giant mantas. But later during the dive, they encounter a young manta ray entangled in a fish cage. Find out how Doc and his companions rescue the trapped manta.
Meanwhile, Kiko travels to Camarines Norte to a place called "land of miners." From small- to large-scale mining, residents dig for minerals in the area, including mining for gold at the bottom of the ocean floor.
Born to be Wild airs every Wednesday, after Saksi, on GMA-7.
