Based on the latest opinion poll conducted by Pulse Asia nationwide, 72% of Filipinos believe ABS-CBN gave the most credible TV news coverage of the May 2010 elections.

ABS-CBN emerged as the most credible TV network in the country during the May 2010 elections. This is based on the latest opinion poll of Pulse Asia, which was conducted from July 1 to 11, 2010. The Ulat ng Bayan survey tapped a sample of 1,200 representative adults, 18 years old and above, resulting in a +3% error margin at the 95% confidence level.

Results of the nationwide survey showed 72% of Filipinos believe ABS-CBN gave the most credible TV news coverage of the May 2010 elections. ABS-CBN scored higher than GMA-7, which had only 63% believing in its credibility and TV5's 32%.

Pulse Asia attributed this high rating to ABS-CBN's election-related programs such as the "Harapan" debates, as well as its multimedia campaign "Boto Mo, iPatrol Mo: Ako ang Simula" that educated the people for empowerment during the election period.

"The public wouldn't go to ABS-CBN if they don't find the network credible. They feel empowered thus, they text and send them their reports," said Pulse Asia Chief Dr. Ana Maria Tabunda in an interview aired recently on TV Patrol.

Meanwhile, data from Kantar Media (formerly TNS) show that more Filipinos watched ABS-CBN's SONA coverage dubbed Boses ng Bayan: Unang SONA ni Pangulong Aquino, which had a national TV rating of 18.7% vs GMA-7's SONA 2010 with 15.6%.
