Robert James Reid, an Australian teen, was named the Big Winner of the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig last Saturday evening, June 26.
"Unite at the Big Night" had a futuristic theme with the host and performers wearing bright colored gowns and clothing and out-of-this world gear. The show was broadcast live from the venue.
James's prizes include a 46" Sony LCD TV, an Asian Tour package to Hongkong, Thailand and Singapore sponsored by Von Dutch, a Crystal Clear water station franchise worth P 1.5 million, a P3 million condominium unit from GA Suites and PhP 1 million cash.
ABS-CBN Head of Entertainment Production Cory Vidanes announced the winner together with Paolo Pineda, head of ABS-CBN Business Development, and PBB host Toni Gonzaga.
The Dashing Dude from Australia received a total of 179,294 text votes or 19.75% of the votes cast this season, considered to be the third teen edition of the reality show. He is a gymnast, swimmer and tri-athlete. James can also play the guitar and he served as the supervisor of "The Big Goal" concert. James follows on the heels of previous winners Kim Chiu (PBB Teen Edition Season 1) and Ejay Falcon (PBB Teen Edition Plus).
Korean Ryan Bang came onstage dancing and laughing when he was announced as the Second Big Placer. Ryan won P 500,000 and a laptop from Sony. He received 169,799 text votes (18.7 percent).
The two Cebuana girls, Fretzie Bercede (who received 15.99 percent) and Devon Seron (who received 15.74 percent) were the 3rd and 4th placer, respectively. Fretzie, The Charming Angel of Cebu, received P 300,00 while The Bubbly Promdi of Cebu got 200,00. Both received Sony Vaio laptops.
August Benitez and PBB Double Up Big Winner Melai Cantiveros helped in announcing the 4th and 3rd placer.
Landing in 5th and 6th place were Ivan Dorschner and Bret Jackson, respectively. Ivan was the remaining male Filipino housemate among the Big Six. U.S. teen-ternational Bret had a lot of fans screaming for him when he was the first one out of the house. Both received P 100,000 from Kandi and Sony Vaio laptops. Host Toni was assisted by former PBB Teen Edition housemate Matt Evans and ABS-CBN's Head of TV Production Linggit Tan in announcing the 5th and 6th Big Placers.
TALENT SHOW. The Big Night of PBB Teen Clash of 2010 began with an opening number from Pilipinas Got Talent Grand Winner Jovit Baldovino and Toni Gonzaga. They performed Journey's "Don't Stop Believing."
Hosts Bianca Gonzales and Mariel Rodriguez recalled how the season started with two groups of teens residing inside the PBB house. One twist introduced this season was the entry of the teen-ternational housemates: foreign teenagers who have been living here in the Philippines.
The Big Six were introduced via a song number by Sam Concepcion and Miles who performed a remix version of "Pyramid" with the ex-teen housemates of PBB. They were also joined by the Velasco Brothers, the siblings who were runners-up in the recently concluded Pilipinas Got Talent.
PBB Double Up Winner Melai Cantiveros showcased her dancing skills by performing with the Philippine delegation to the Homeless World Cup. The team members also showcased their athletic skills that night. They danced to the tune of "Everybody Help Somebody," a song composed by Bret and James.
The Philippine delegation to the Homeless World Cup then received a cheque for P 580,000: the amount raised during the "The Big Goal" concert mounted by the PBB teen housemates. The team will be going to Rio De Janiero, Brazil where the competition will be held this September.
Big Brother gave his message to the Big Six teen housemates. Though they have different backgrounds, he pointed out that housemates shared a common experience that can elicit positive changes in their lives. Kuya also considered his housemates (regardless of their nationality) as Pinoys because of the lives that they will lead outside the house. Parents and close friends of the housemates also gave their words of encouragement for the Big Six.
Mariel and Bianca then closed the voting process of this PBB edition at past 10 in the evening. An SGV representative was also present to audit the results.
A big announcement was also made regarding the auditions for The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Edition, which will be shown on the Kapamilya Network soon.
