Dennis Trillo and Marian Rivera will play two neighbors who find comfort in each other in "Sugat ng Kahapon." This Black Saturday TV special tackling platonic love will be aired on GMA-7 on April 11 from 7-9 p.m.
Now on its 10th year, APT Entertainment continues with its annual vow (panata) of offering quality programming for viewers during the Holy Week.
According to a source from APT Entertainment, this two-hour television special will tackle one of the greatest commandments: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."
She adds: "Kahit na [may] kakulangan ka sa pag-iisip, hindi pa rin yun hadlang na magmahal ka ng kapwa mo, makapasok ka sa kaharian ng langit at maging mabait."
In the story, Marian Rivera plays a battered wife named Hilda. Being new to the neighborhood, she becomes close to Lola Salve (Perla Bautista), an ailing old woman, and her grandson, Sonny (Dennis Trillo).
Sonny is a mentally-challenged man who becomes an orphan when Lola Salve passes away. Hilda hesitantly allows Sonny to stay in their home despite his condition. However, her husband Aldo (Gardo Versoza) becomes furious upon learning that Hilda is taking care of Sonny.
Child star BJ Forbes will play the role of the young Dennis Trillo.
"Sugat ng Kahapon" marks Dennis's fourth time to act in APT's annual Lenten offering. The actor won an Asian TV Award two years ago for his portrayal as a prodigal son in the APT Lenten presentation, "Unico Hijo."
Last year's Black Saturday special featured Lorna Tolentino in "Sentenciada."
Directed by Mac Alejandre, "Sugat na Kahapon" will air on April 11 from 7 to 9 pm on GMA-7.
