Comedians Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola's launching flick, the horror-comedy Scaregivers, reportedly grossed P3.5 million during its opening day last November 19.

The film producers, APT Entertainment of Tony Tuviera and Vic Sotto's M-Zet Television Inc., are very happy about the film's result at the tills considering the fact that Jose and Wally have not yet proven their worth as box-office attractions. But the producers' gamble on the wacky duo paid off!

Days before the opening of their movie, Jose and Wally admitted they had butterflies in their stomach.

"Dati rati kasi, suporta lang ang ginagawa namin kina Tito, Vic, and Joey. Ngayon, kami na itong kailangang magpatawa. Kami na itong huhusgahan ng publiko! Nakakatakot talaga," says Jose.

For his part, Wally reveals, "Feeling namin, iniwan kami ng mga magulang namin. Iga-guide lang nila kami. Kami na ang bahalang dumiskarte sa eksenang kailangang magpatawa. Iba't ibang feeling ang naramdaman ko bago ang showing. Maiihia ba ako? Matutulog ba ako?"

The comic duo are grateful for their experience as junior hosts/comedians at GMa-7's noontime show Eat Bulaga, their hilarious routines at Klownz and Zirkoh Timog comedy bars and out-of-town gigs that honed their craft as entertainers. Add to that their hard work and patience that made them more lovable and laughable!

Aside from Jose and Wally's natural flair for comedy, Scaregivers also boasts of fantastic special effects and superb acting from supporting cast members Iza Calzado, Ehra Madrigal, Paolo Contis and the special appearances of Marian Rivera, Julia Clarete, Boy Abunda, and Vic Sotto, among others.

Rated PG-13, Scaregivers is being screened in cinemas nationwide.
