Mavy Legaspi became the subject of ridicule and hurtful comments on social media following the conclusion of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.
The hit reality show ended its latest season on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with Caprice Cayetano being declared the Kapuso Big Winner and Lella Ford emerging as the Kapamilya Big Winner.
Caprice and Lella bested 18 other celebrity housemates from ABS-CBN and GMA Network to clinch the honor, which, more than anything, is a big boost to their respective showbiz careers.
"Sobrang nagulat po talaga ako… maraming-maraming salamat po sa lahat ng sumusuporta," said a surprised Caprice.
Lella said: "Until now, hindi pa rin po ako makapaniwala, pero maraming-maraming salamat po talaga sa inyong lahat. Wala po akong ibang masabi, but thank you so much."
MAVY FACES ONLINE BASHING
While Caprice and Lella were showered with praise and congratulations, one of the show’s hosts, Mavy, also trended online—but for the wrong reasons.
On social media, netizens poked fun at Mavy’s hosting skills, resharing a clip from a segment in which they noticed the actor-host appearing uncomfortable while delivering his lines.
"MAVY LEGASPI anyare sa yo? Kaya pa bro? Emz," commented a netizen.
Another viewer remarked, "Lasing ata si Mavy Legaspi hahahaha," while someone said, "Ako ang nahihirapan sa pag-host nitong si Mavy."
Many of the comments directed at Mavy were outright hurtful, prompting one netizen to post, “Wag na muna mag-Twitter si Mavy Legaspi. The netizens are not having it.”
HIS SIDE OF THE STORY
On Instagram, Mavy posted an explanation of why he struggled to deliver his spiels smoothly during the live telecast.
According to him, technical issues, specifically "microphone delay," affected his hosting that night.
"[We] could literally hear our voices echo in the venue which made it difficult to talk," wrote Mavy.
"I would like to apologize if I sounded slow at times during our online live session on YouTube and Facebook."
He added, "We did our best even if it was really difficult because of the sound delay.
"Thank you for being patient with us."
Mavy also appeared to take the criticism in stride, sharing another post featuring a close-up photo of himself with the caption, “OMG ???????????? cringe nga!” and even adding the hashtag #cringe for good measure.
