Janus del Prado draws backlash from some netizens after sharing a meme involving Kapuso actress Carla Abellana’s wedding cake.

The post prompts a brief exchange between the two, which later escalated into a now-deleted Facebook post that many perceive as a tirade against the newly married actress.

Carla recently made the rounds on social media after tying the knot with her first love, Dr. Reginald Santos, on December 27, 2025, in an intimate ceremony held in Tagaytay City.

Shortly after the matrimonial ceremony, clips and photos of the couple’s wedding details circulated, including a long, rectangular cake that Janus poked fun of for resembling a casket.

Janus's joke that went too far

Janus reposted the image on his own social media account, with a text over it that read: “Cake! Ba’t mo kami iniwan! Huhuhu!”

He followed up with the caption, “Sisiw na lang kulang,” further leaning into the joke.

Quickly gaining traction, the repost removes the joke from its throwaway context and anchors it to a real moment.

Carla later addressed the post in the comments section, politely defending the confectionary, clarifying that it was fully edible, enjoyed by guests, and intentionally chosen for their celebration.

Not long after, Janus posted a separate Facebook update that was later deleted but widely screenshotted and reshared.

The post included remarks that netizens interpreted as directed at Carla, referencing her marriage, her past relationships, and even addressing her husband with warnings about “choosing wisely.”

Janus's post read in full: “Maldita pala talaga tong si bagong kasal. Pina mass report yung page ko ngayon nakahold ang monetization.

“To your new husband. Ingat ka dyan sa napili mo. Remember that she dragged all her exes name into the mud. Wag na wag kang magkakamali. Hay.

“Yun lang napikon ka na? Over react much? Best wishes. Sana tumagal kayo kahit 6 months lang.”

Netizens criticize JANUS'S HUMOR

Fresh off the Christmas and New Year break, netizens show little patience for what they see as unnecessary escalation.

The circulating meme turns sour for Janus, with many calling out his online behavior about the whole matter.

Several users point out that Carla’s response remains composed and explanatory, despite Janus’s below-the-belt post.

Comments of his other Instagram posts are now flooded in defense to Carla:

“Wala kasi siyang project kaya nagpapapansin [laughing with tears emoji]”

“Kalalaking tao, papansin! HAHAHA BADING”

“Tama ka din na mass report ka. Kung nasa katinuan ka. Dapat inisip mo kung tama ba na bumitaw ka ng ganong joke. Sumobra ka din kasi. Nilulugar lahat ng joke. Tapos ngayong nagbackfire sayo yung gginawa mo, magpapavictim ka. Personal na bagay na yun. Mag work man sila o hindi, di mo na problema yun. Di ako die hard fan ng kahit na sinong artista pero need mo din e call out dahil nababasa ka ng mga followers mo at kilala ka ng mga Pilipino mapabata man o matanda. You're old enough to know what is right or wrong. Minsan kasi, napaka barbaric din patutsada mo.”

Redditors are on the same page, hitting at Janus in a discussion forum titled “Janus del Prado, pinapairal na naman ang negativity sa utak.”

The commenters jumped in:

“Now this is such a low blow. Lowest of the low [face vomiting emoji]”

“Ikaw nga Janus napikos kasi minass report page mo e. Yung tamang trip ka sa kasal ng iba, pero nung ikaw pinagtripan iiyak ka. Gago ka ba? 2026 na, MAY UBO KA PA DIN SA UTAK. NO WONDER WALANG RELATIVE MO ANG GUSTONG KUMUPKOP SAYO. KASE SALOT KA.”

“Who hurt him? Kaloka”

“Baka nalilipasan na ng gutom kasi di na kinukuha sa tv or movies. Mawawa naman, may plema sa utak.”

“Feel niya talaga Carla directed her fans na i-mass report page niya eh for sure nasa honeymoon si girlie or just plain enjoying her second chance at love. Sino naman siya para pag-aksayahan ng panahon eh he's a has-been, never peaked or will peak in the showbiz industry?”
