What began as Dionela’s The Grace concert quickly turned into a defining moment in the his personal life as he asked for the hand of his longtime partner Meizy Joaquin Mendoza.

It happened on Friday night, November 21, 2025, the first night of his two-day show at the New Frontier Theater.

DIONELA’S PROPOSAL

The proposal unfolded moments after Dionela wrapped up his first set.

He invited Meizy onstage and then he told the crowd, “Ang ganda ano? Okay, tanda niyo yung chorus ng 'Bahaghari' everyone? Ito po yung part niya doon. Listen carefully.”

Meizy then took center stage and sang the chorus of “Bahaghari.”

She sang the lines that have long been tied to their love story: “Ako ang nasa dulo ng bahaghari, langit ay nakita sa ’king labi. Puwede mo ’kong angkinin, tunay rin ang pagtingin. Kahit kailan, hindi naging kunwari puso kong ikaw lang ang may-ari. Ako ay ’di na aalis. Wala nang bagong darating.”

“Meizy Joaquin Mendoza, will you marry me?” Dionally asked.
