MISS UNIVERSE 2025: FORMAT
The 74th Miss Universe, themed “The Power of Love,” will be hosted by comedian Steve Byrne, with commentary from Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres and Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel.
Thai artist Jeff Satur will perform during the event.
Placements follow the expanded format, in which judges will narrow the field to a Top 30, then a Top 10, Top 5, and Top 3 before crowning the winner.
Fan voting—available exclusively through the official Miss Universe app powered by Zentrix—determines the winners for People’s Choice, who advances to the Top 30, and eight special awards: Best National Costume, Best Evening Gown, Most Photogenic, Best Skin, Most Beautiful People, Beyond the Crown, Social Impact Leader, and Miss Congeniality.
This marks the first time the Miss Congeniality award is decided by public voting rather than by the contestants themselves.
MISS UNIVERSE 2025: SELECTION COMMITTEE
This year’s Miss Universe selection committee features a diverse line-up of personalities:
- Miniyothabo Francisca Baloyi – Zimbabwean army colonel (finals judge)
- Romero Britto – Brazilian artist (finals judge)
- Ismael Cala – Cuban journalist and author
- Sharon Fonseca – Venezuelan model and entrepreneur
- Natalie Glebova – Miss Universe 2005, Canada
- Louie Heredia – Filipino singer
- Andrea Meza – Miss Universe 2020, Mexico
- Saina Nehwal – Indian badminton star, Olympic bronze medalist (finals judge)
- Savinee Pakaranang – Miss Thailand 1984 (preliminary judge)
- Chalida Thaochalee – Actress, Miss Thailand 1998
- Farung Yuthithum – Miss Thailand Universe 2007 (preliminary judge)
Three Miss Universe 2025 jury members resigned before the finals.
French-Lebanese pianist Omar Harfouch withdrew three days earlier, alleging that a secret committee selected the Top 30 outside official protocols. He claimed the group included individuals with ties to contestants.
The Miss Universe Organization denied the allegation, reaffirming its procedures while acknowledging his exit.
French football manager Claude Makélélé and Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie also left citing personal reasons.
