Welcome development para sa kampo ng negosyante at gambling tycoon na si Atong Ang ang inilabas na subpoena ng Department of Justice (DOJ) para rito at iba pa.
Ang subpoena ay para sa mga personalidad na idinawit sa kaso ng mga nawawalang sabungero.
Nakatakdang magkaroon ng preliminary investigation sa susunod na linggo.
Ayon kay Atty. Gabriel Villareal, legal counsel ni Atong, pagkakataon na rin daw ito upang malinis ang pangalan ng kanyang kliyente laban sa nag-akusa ritong si whistleblower Julie "Dondon" Patidongan.
Saad ng abogado: "We meet with guarded optimism the news regarding the formal commencement of the preliminary investigation into the case of the so-called 'missing sabungeros.'
"We welcome the opportunity to respond frontally to the accusations which have since been shrouded in innuendo and unsubstantiated claims by a Julie 'Dondon' Patidongan, who, by evidence we have unearthed in the meantime, appears to have had motive to and is the one responsible for the disappearances."
Hinahamon din ng kampo ni Atong si Patidongan na kumawala sa "saya ni Secretary Remulla" ng DOJ at maglabas ng ebidensiya laban sa kliyente.
"Realizing that investigators were about to pin him down, he resorted to concocting a fantastic story putting blame on his superiors and benefactors as his easy way out of his impending imprisonment.
"'Hinahamon ko si Dondon na lumabas na sa likod ng saya ni Secretary Remulla at patunayan niya sa pamamagitan ng ebidensiya ang mga akusasyon niya. Paghandaan na rin niya panagutan ang konsikwensiya ng mga kagagawan niya.'
"The time for reckoning has come. In time, the truth about the one truly responsible for the disappearances of the 'missing sabungeros' will out."

GRETCHEN BARReTTO'S CAMP TO ISSUE STATEMENT SOON
Bukod kay Atong, pinadalhan din ng subpoena ang aktres at business partner niyang si Gretchen Barretto.
Ayon sa abogado ni Gretchen na si Atty. Alma Mallonga, maglalabas sila ng pahayag “in due time.”
Bukod kina Atong at Gretchen, pinadalahan din ng subpoena si dating NCRPO Chief Jonnel Estomo at 18 pulis, pati ang whistleblower na si Patidongan at kapatid nitong si Elakim.
