Mariing pinabulaanan ng ilang kongresistang pinangalanan nina Curlee at Sarah Discaya ang alegasyong tumanggap sila ng porsyento mula sa flood control projects ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa mga distritong kanilang sinasakupan.
Ginawa ng mga Discaya ang pagbubulgar sa Senate Blue Ribbon Committee inquiry na kasalukuyang nagaganap nitong Lunes, Setyembre 8, 2025.
Ilang sandali matapos idawit ng mga Discaya ang kanilang mga pangalan, naglabas ng kanya-kanyang official statement sina Quezon City First District Representative Arjo Atayde, Quezon City Fifth District Representative Patrick Michael “PM” Vargas, at Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo.

ARJO ATAYDE
Pahayag ng actor-politician na si Arjo Atayde sa pamamagitan ng Instagram post: “I categorically deny the allegation that I benefited from any contractor.
"I have never dealt with them. Hindi totoo ang mga akusasyon na ito.
“I have never used my position for personal gain. And I never will.
"I will avail of all remedies under the law to clear my name and hold accountable those who spread these falsehoods.”
Hindi lamang si Arjo ang idiniin sa joint statement ng mag-asawang Curlee at Sarah dahil inakusahan din nila ng panggigipit si Art Atayde, ang ama ng actor-politician.

PM VARGAS
Gaya ni Arjo, dadaanin ni Congressman PM Vargas sa legal na paraan ang paghahanap ng hustisya tungkol sa diumano’y salat sa katotohanang paratang ng mga Discaya laban sa kanya.
“100% NOT TRUE. Ano kaya ang motibo nila?” reaksiyon ng nakababatang kapatid ng aktor at Quezon City councilor na si Alfred Vargas.
“Walang project ang mga Discaya sa district namin kailanman. Zero. This is confirmed and certified.
“I will file a case against them for this blatant lie. My track record speaks for itself.”
May kutob si PM na may kinalaman sa pulitika ang pagdadamay sa kanyang pangalan sa kontrobersiyal na isyu ng korapsyon at maanomalyang mga proyekto sa flood control.

Mariin ding pinabulaanan ni Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo ang alegasyon ng mga Discaya laban sa kanya.
Pahayag ni Romulo: "I strongly deny these malicious and fabricated allegations linking me to anomalous bidding.
"I was never involved in any bidding nor in selecting contractors for DPWH projects.
"In this regard, it is quite clear that these accusations are nothing more than an attempt to divert attention, shift blame, and evade accountability for matters properly within their responsibility.
"Such tactics undermine the integrity of official proceedings and mislead the public with baseless insinuations.
"I challenge my accusers to present clear and solid evidence.
"I remain committed to serving Pasig with honesty and integrity and no amount of black propaganda will stop me from doing my job."
Si Romulo ay kaalyado ni Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, isa sa mga unang nagsiwalat sa mga anomalya sa construction companies na pagmamay-ari ng mga Discaya.
