Isa raw siyang transgender.

TRANS WOMAN WRITES COMPLAINT LETTER
“I am writing to strongly raise a serious complaint about an incident of discrimination I experienced at Merry Mart in Iloilo City, which left me deeply traumatized and humiliated,” sabi ng trans woman.
“Today, Aug 19, 2025, I attempted to use the women's restroom at your establishment. However, the janitress on duty stopped me from entering and treated me as though I had no right to be there.
“To my shock, she even called a security guard, escalating the situation unnecessarily and subjecting me to public shame and humiliation.”
"Degrading” at “traumatizing” daw ang naranasan niya.
“As a member of the LGBTQ community, I felt singled out, disrespected, and discriminated against in a place where I should have felt safe and welcome.”

LGBTQ+ AFFAIRS-ILOILO CITY REACTS
“This kind of treatment is unacceptable. Iloilo City has long prided itself on being a safe and inclusive space for people of diverse SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics),” sabi ng grupo.
“Incidents like this directly undermine our collective effort to uphold dignity, respect, and equal rights for all.”
Anito, nilabag ng establishment ang Anti-Discrimination Ordinance of Iloilo City.
“Discrimination has no place in Iloilo City. We call on all establishments to uphold the rights of every individual, regardless of their SOGIESC, and to ensure that restrooms, workplaces, schools, and all public spaces remain SAFE and RESPECTFUL environments for all.”
Iginiit din ng Office of the LGBTQ+ Affairs – Iloilo City na handa itong idaan sa legal na usapan ang pangyayari para magkaroon ng hustisya, “and that this incident becomes a turning point for stronger protection of our community.”
