Heart Evangelista turned heads with her stunning appearance at the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.

She graced the opening of the 20th Congress wearing a sophisticated barong-inspired top paired with a woven Filipiniana skirt.

NETIZENS REACT: FIRST-LADY MATERIAL

Heart's fashion choices that day awed netizens.

One commented, "Such a delightful and inspiring take on Filipiniana style."

Another fan remarked, "LOVE this barong ensemble! So chic!"

One more compliment from a follower: "The memo called for simplicity. Heart understood the assignment. The rest were clearly out of touch."

Some netizens compared Heart's look to that of Tandang Sora—the Filipina revolutionary known for aiding Katipuneros—due to the design of her gown’s sleeves.

Others said her overall appearance evoked the image of the Virgin Mary.

A follower of Heart said, "Ang lakas maka first lady," with another manifesting, "Soon one day ikaw na ang magiging 1st lady ng Pilipinas."

Heart is married to the current Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero.
