PBA player John Amores involved in shooting incident in Laguna 

Amores now being hunted by the police after a shooting incident.

JOHN Amores is once again in hot water after allegedly being involved in a shooting incident in Lumban, Laguna.

A manhunt for Amores has began after the NorthPort player allegedly shot an individual after a basketball game. No one was hurt from the incident.

According to a police blotter received by SPIN.ph, Amores and a certain Lee Cacalda got into a heated argument after a basketball game in Barangay Salac with Amores allegedly uttering the words "dun tayo magsuntukan."

Cacalda was then followed by Amores at Barangay Maytalang Uno in Lumban, Laguna with Amores shooting the victim using an unknown firearm after both got off with their respective motorcycles.

Amores then escaped into the general direction of Pagsanjan, Laguna.

A CCTV footage of the incident also shown that the shooting incident took place at the National Road in broad daylight.

JOHN AMORES NOW BEING HUNTED BY THE POLICE

Police is now conducting a dragnet operation, and is preparing for a hot pursuit operation for the possible apprehension of Amores.

NorthPort management has been informed of the incident, according to a PBA source.

The incident puts Amores' future in doubt after being involved in yet another controversy.

Amores was slapped with an indefinite ban by the NCAA after he went on a rampage in a punching incident in a game between his team Jose Rizal University and College of Saint Benilde on November 8, 2022.

In the fracas, Amores landed punches to CSB players Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis, leading to the suspension.

Despite the incident in the NCAA, Amores got a second chance at basketball and was able to play in the PBA after being drafted by NorthPort in the fifth round, 51st overall, in the 48th Season draft.

The shooting incident comes three days after Amores and NorthPort wrapped up their Governors' Cup campaign with the Batang Pier finishing with a 3-7 win-loss record.

Amores is currently under contract with NorthPort, signing a one-year deal with the Batang Pier before the season.

He averaged 5.1 points and 1.6 rebounds for the Batang Pier in the Governors' Cup. He also shot a total of 18-of-37 from the field including two fours and seven threes.
