ITZY is up for a phenomenal concert for its Born To Be world tour concert in Manila.
This was what they promised to the press and the fans when the popular K-pop group showed up at the mediacon at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City on Friday afternoon, August 2, 2024.
Four out of five members from the group were present including Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna.
The Born To Be concert will be held at the MOA Arena on Saturday evening, August 3.
Talking about what to expect for the show, Ryuji said in English: "The Checkmate tour was our first tour, so we really learned a lot dring the tour.
"And I think Born To Be tour is the time that we use it. So, I think that was the biggest difference between Checkmate and Born To Be tour."
Chaeryeong added with the help of a Korean-English translator, "One of the difference that we can tell you guys is we have the band arrangements where you guys can actually enjoy more from our concert of this kind."
Ryuji agreed that the show is going to be unforgettable for the fans.
"We always talk about confidence, self-love and energy so I think Born To Be is a little more developed from then and is showing more strong vibe with a strong performance."
ITZY on passionate pinoy fans
Calling their fans MIDZYs, ITZY's members also remembered how Pinoy MIDZYs warmly welcomed the group when they had a two-night concert in Manila back in January 2023.
"We've been to Manila quite often," Yeji said with the help of the translator.
Noting how fans kept on screaming in excitement during the presscon proper, Yeji continued, "I think it's an honor to meet our Manila MIDZYs again.
"And I think we actually had our conference here during our world tour Checkmate.
"I can still remember a lot of energy that you're giving to us.
"We're very impressed with your energy that you are giving to us this time us well."
Ryujin went on to say that the group was also thrilled to meet MIDZYs in Manila.
"We arrived very early today. But we wanted to see you guys as best as we can so we [went out] and came here."
Yuna, for her part, pointed out that ITZY resonates well with Pinoy fans because both share the same "confidence" and "positive vibe."
She explained, "Whenever we come here, the passionate love that we have for MITZYs and alsoMIDZYs to us, I guess that's one of the things that we can relate to.
"So, we would like to tell you that we love and value you guys so much as well."
Dedicating a song for MIDZYs in Manila, Yeji said with the help of a translator, "You know 'Domino,' right?
"The reason why I love the song is becausye ITZY and MIDZYs are very dependent on each other, right?
"And there are a lot of warm messages included in that song that's why I'd like to dedicate it to our MIDZYs."
GETTING TO KNOW ITZY MEMBERS
To let the crowd get to know them better, ITZY's Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna gamely played "Who's Most Likely To."
The game required them to divulge who among the members is most likely to fit the game master's decription.
Ryujin turned out to be the "group prankster."
Smiling, she admitted, "Yes, of course. I like to mess up with our members. So I agree."
She's also the one picked by her co-members as the one whos most likely to be "secretly wealthy.
Referring to Ryujin, Yuna exclaimed in Korean, "She doesn't spend money!"
Yuna, for her part, was picked as the one who is mostly like to "bring biggest makeup kit, last to wake up, and miss their flight because they packed at the last minute."
She revealed, "I love doing make-up."
As for missing a flight, she said "it actually didn't happen before."
Then Yuna admitted, "But I am actually the person who packs up to the last minute and I leave the house, yes, so it's true."
Ryuji, Chaeryeong, and Yuna also admitted that all three of them cry when they watch a movie.
"The three of us cries a lot, except Yeji," Ryuji revealed.
ITZY's Lia skipped the world tour since she took a break from work for nearly a year, but she is reportedly back for the group's album-related activities last July.
