South Korean actor Ahn Bo Hyun's fan meet in the Philippines was a fun and spectacular event, as he showered Filipino fans with love, awesome gifts, and ultimate fan service.

The Flex X Cop actor was recently in the country for the Manila leg of his Hello! fan-meet tour, which was held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on May 25, 2024.

Throughout the two-hour-long event, Bo Hyun seized every opportunity to express his sincerity and appreciation towards his fans.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was on the scene, and here are the highlights of the event.

GETTING TO KNOW AHN BO HYUN

Before officially kicking off the fan meet, a pre-recorded video of Bo Hyun was played on the LED screen, complete with English subtitles.

In the video, Bo Hyun expressed that he felt a mix of emotions, especially since this is his first-ever fan meet.

In his words, as translated in English, “Hello, this is actor Ahn Bo Hyun. I’m so nervous about meeting Bbosiraegi that I couldn't sleep."

Bbosiraegi is the nickname Bo Hyun has given to his fans.

He continued, “I don't think I’ve ever been this excited about anything before. Since this will be my first ever fan meet, I've prepared a lot for this.

“I did a lot of singing practice and I was involved in making all the segments. There's a lot to expect.

“Hope that today will be joyful for me and all of you. I'm actually super nervous right now.

“Do you want to see me? I want to see you so much. Shall we meet up right now? Wait a second! Just a second.”

Right after the video ended, the charming 36-year-old actor delivered a live rendition of “Start Over,” an OST from Itaewon Class originally sung by Gaho.

His performance drew loud cheers from the audience.

Matching the energy of the crowd, Bo Hyun greeted Pinoy fans with, “Kumusta? Ako po si Ahn Bo Hyun.”

NOOD KA MUNA!

The show’s first segment, aptly named “Boss-tagram,” drew inspiration from his recent K-drama Flex X Cop.

During this segment, Bo Hyun shared stories behind several snapshots and engaged in a chat with the host, revealing more about himself personally and as an actor.

Discussing his approach to memorizing lines for scenes, Bo Hyun explained, with the help of a translator, “I do not have a specific method but I keep staring [at] it.

“And, you know, if there's a part of the script that I cannot really memorize, I just sleep for sometime, I put an alarm, and when I wake up, you know, those parts of the script actually came to my mind.”

As the conversation continued, Bo Hyun's good character shone through in his care for nature.

To protect the environment, he mentioned best practices whenever he goes camping.

"Because there are a lot of trashes, I take those trashes that are not mine because I take care of the environment.

“And, you know, I order [delivery food] a lot to my place, and whenever the food comes in, I do not use those kind of disposable chopsticks…

He added that he uses tumbler instead of purchasing disposable cups.

FUN GAME WITH BO HYUN

Moving on to the second segment called “Boss Awards,” Bo Hyun revealed more facts about himself through a poll game where fans selected the best phrase that suits the actor.

The first question was: “What is Bo Hyun’s favorite phrase to hear?”

He promptly answered, “He start growing on me.”

The fans eagerly tried to say the phrase in Korean with the help of Bo Hyun, but everyone ended up laughing as the crowd failed to utter it in unison.

During the segment, the South Korean actor also revealed what he enjoys doing in between work. He said that meeting up with his close friends is his way of relieving stress, while a happy moment for him is taking a shower after working out.

Speaking of working out, fans teased Bo Hyun to show off his well-toned body. But ever the shy one, he backed out just when he was about to lift his shirt!

The next segment was called the “Boss-pre Epilogue,” where three fans got to ask him one question each.

Then there was an event break where the audience was shown “Boss Signal,” a pre-recorded video where Bo Hyun talked about his workouts, how different he is when he first meets a person, and how he is when a person becomes a friend.

KILIG-FILLED NIGHT WITH AHN BO HYUN

Bo Hyun's ways may be predictable to some, but he also knows how to delight fans and make their hearts flutter!

Case in point: he delivered ultimate fan service when he went down the stage to get closer to the audience and interact with them. He shook hands, offered high fives, and took photos with lucky fans.

Prompting joyful shrieks from fans, he serenaded the crowd with “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez.

But the kilig did not end there as the next segment, “Boss Relay,” was truly one of the most memorable highlights.

Attendees could not help but feel a twinge of jealousy as they watched nine lucky ticket-holders play games with Bo Hyun.

From the “Bottle Flip” (flipping and balancing a bottle), to “Unity” (standing on one foot with Bo Hyun on a paper within five seconds), and “Relay Balloon” (taking turns bouncing a balloon while going around two tables), the excitement was palpable.

Winners received photocards of their beloved idol.

But perhaps the real prize was getting up close with Bo Hyun, who either gave a hug or made an effort to chat with the lucky fans.

Just when fans thought the event was drawing to a close, Bo Hyun surprised them with two more segments: the “Boss Quiz” and “Boss-neun Ahn Bo Hyun.”

These segments for the Manila leg of his “Hello!” tour kept the energy high.

In the “Boss Quiz,” everyone had a chance to guess the right answers about Bo Hyun where two winners emerged, taking home special gifts from the actor.

The final segment, “Boss-neun Ahn Bo Hyun,” was an exclusive treat for the Philippines.

Bo Hyun signed posters live, took polaroid photos, and autographed items for more than 15 fans.

When he picked a "no luck" paper from the box, he tore it up and insisted on continuing, showing his generous spirit by adding more prizes and winners beyond the initial three.

Overwhelmed by the love and support of his Pinoy supporters, he declared, “I took care of art to give you some [gifts or presents] for you, guys, but I think, I’m receiving a lot more from you.

“I would like to say thank you so much for [coming despite] the bad weather… I really appreciate you, guys.”

He added, with the help of an interpreter, “I think, I actually [made] good memories with you, guys, and I really feel honored that my first visit here in the Philippines is due to a fan meeting.

“I’ll keep this feeling and keep this honor that I have with you, and I’ll make sure to come back to the Philippines.”
