John Christian Regino, more popularly known as JC Regino, has expressed keen interest in portraying his father in a forthcoming biopic.
The 30-year-old artist is the only son of the late OPM singer April Boy Regino.
During a media press conference for his new single “Wala Na,” JC tells GMA News’ Lhars Santiago, “Kung ako po, okay po sa akin.
While JC's singing voice sounds much like his dad's, the actor has been told he looks more like his mom Madeline than April Boy.

JC’s focus at the moment, as can be expected, is to ensure that the film accurately portrays his father’s legacy.
He reiterates his desire to make significant contribution to the movie in any way, even it the role of April Boy goes to a more experienced actor.

WHO IS JC REGINO IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
JC Regino has been releasing songs for more than a decade, and, before going solo, has already shared an album with the April Boys, April Boy Regino’s band with his brothers Vingo and Jimmy Regino.
At the mediacon, JC shares how much of a big inspiration his father has been to him in music.
The singer recalls his father first teaching him how to play the guitar and later guiding him through the music industry, which he returned to after his years in the States.
He acknowledges the fans' emotional connection with his father’s music, recounting their requests in his livestreams for his dad's biggest hits—"Bulong Ng Damdamin," "Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin," "Paano Ang Puso Ko," to name a few—which JC says he’s always happy to revive.
JC declares his father's legacy lives through his music, "Natutuwa naman ako.
JC’s NEW RELEASE
JC has just released a new single titled “Wala Na”, which, as compared to his previous releases, is more about the heartbreaking experience of a friend of the singer-songwriter.
“Wala Na” is JC’s third single under GMA Music.
The singer hopes to create more music, and an album, under the network, if given the chance.
