Inanunsiyo ng kaanak ni Floy na si Celina Quintos, sa pamamagitan ng Facebook post, ang malungkot na balita.

Ayon kay Celina, binawian ng buhay si Floy matapos isugod sa ospital dahil sa heart attack.
Inaayos pa raw ng kanilang pamilya ang mga kailangan para sa burol ng mga labi ni Floy sa Arlington Memorial Chapels sa Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.
Nakasaad sa pahayag ni Celina: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I, on behalf of my family, announce that Floy Quintos, esteemed playwright and director, but more importantly beloved brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, has returned to the arms of the Lord.
"He passed suddenly in the ER from a heart attack this morning, April 27th, 2024.
"Our family is still making arrangements for the wake at Arlington Memorial Chapels, and will post updates on the date and time once we have them. We ask for your prayers, love, and support as we navigate this tremendous loss.
"Floy Quintos was a beacon of Philippine culture and the arts, but also shone so much firelight for the people closest to him.
"The country, the world, and our home are much darker with this light snuffed out too soon. We hope to share our light with each other through this time."
WHO IS FLOY QUINTOS?
Si Floy Quintos ay Palanca-winning playwright and scriptwriter, film and TV writer-director, at poet.
Kabilang sa mga musicals at stageplays niya ay ang The Kundiman Party, Angry Christ, Grace, Fluid, at The Reconciliation Dinner.
Sa TV naman ay kilala siya bilang direktor ng defunct GMA-7 showbiz-oriented talk show na Startalk.
Kabilang sa mga pelikulang siya ang nagsulat ng script at Wating; Darna: Ang Pagbabalik; at Koronang Itim.
Siya rin ang naging creative director ng 2019 SEA Games opening ceremony.
