What is MIFF 2024 about?
The goal of the MIFF is to enrich the cultural landscape of the Philippines by bringing diverse cinematic voices and stories to the forefront. It also aims to foster a deeper appreciation for film as an art form.
The festival typically features a variety of film screenings, workshops, and panel discussions.
It offers opportunities for networking and collaboration among filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts.
MIFF 2024 in particular aims to serve as a platform for Filipino filmmakers to present their work to both a domestic and international audience.
The official poster of MIFF 2024 is a vibrant homage to the rich history and bright future of Philippine cinema.

Designed by Elton Lugay and Adam Lang, it intricately weaves together hundreds of stills from iconic movies such as Insiang and Maynila: Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag, both directed by Lino Brocka with Hilda Koronel as lead actress.
An even closer inspection of the poster reveals Brocka and Koronel standing side by side, which symbolizes the close collaboration between the actors and the filmmakers and their exceptional contributions to the art of cinema.
And in a way, the inaugural poster honors Hilda Koronel as the recipient of the first MIFF Monty Manibog Lifetime Achievement Award.
