Ang baguhang artistang si Nicky Gilbert ay isa sa mga inilunsad bilang bahagi ng tatlumpu’t dalawang newbie artists ng NET25 Star Center kamakailan.
“For me, being in a big network, sa NET25 Star Center, it’s been a blessing for me and my family of course, coz it’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid, to be an actress.
“And when I learned that I got into NET25, I was really shocked and it made me really happy.
“And I learned a lot in NET25, all the workshops we worked through, so later for our show iyon po lahat yung pinaghirapan naming.
“So ayun, it’s such a blessing and an opportunity,” panimulang bungad ni Nicky sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noong nakaraang September 15 sa Banh Mi restaurant sa NET25 Compound sa Eagle Broadcasting Center sa Diliman, Quezon City
Ano sa tingin ni Nicky ang taglay niyang mga katangian upang magtagumpay bilang isang sikat an artista?
Lahad niya, “I think for me, my edge from the other artists in NET25 is that I’m very hardworking and dedicated in my craft.
“In this kind of craft, I don’t give up easily and I know that it’s not enough, I will make it my best, 100 percent or more than a hundred percent coz I know that I can do it and I know that I can be a star.”
Saan nais ni Nicky na malinya bilang aktres?
“Actually, of course, bida, di ba po? Pero I heard some news that bagay din po sa akin maging kontrabida.
“But I’m open, I’m flexible to any roles actually,” saad niya.
Isa sa mga proyekto ng NET25 para kay Nicky ay isang teleserye at magkahalong saya at pagkagulat raw ang kanyang naramdaman.
Pag-amin niya, “Yeah, I was like shocked that… it’s still a workshop for me actually, and after ng culminating na ‘to I’m…
“I wasn’t sure that I was gonna have a role or I’m gonna be placed as an understudy or yung magiging kasama sa isang teleserye.
“I was very happy and shocked that they saw a potential in me and they saw that I can do that kind of acting.”
Matapos ang one-on-one interview kay Nicky ay idinaos naman ang grand launch ng iba pang StarKada talents ng NET25 sa katabi lamang na EVM Convention Center sa gusali ng NET25.
Dinaluhan ito nina Eric Quizon, Ara Mina (na mga head ng NET25 Star Center), Wilma Galvante (Creative Consultant ng NET25) at Caesar Vallejos (NET25 President).
NICKY TO BE PART OF NET25 YOUTH-ORIENTED SHOW
May youth-oriented show rin ang NET25 kung saan kasama si Nicky, ang StarKada na ipapalabas within the year.
“We heard that maybe it’s gonna be like That’s Entertainment or like a musical prod, but like Glee or High School Musical-type.
“Yeah, that’s the first idea that they went through, yung sinabi nila sa amin, but we are looking forward as to what kind of shows that they are giving us.
“So nakaka-excite lang, so any kind of genre, any kind of ideas that they want, we’re in.”

“It’s like a family in there! It’s like you help each other, so we’re all equal, we’re not doing biases, we’re not doing favoritisms or competitions, we’re all equal, we help each other with our strengths and weaknesses.”

“Actually, for me, I don’t treat her like a friend, I treat her like a sister, I’m her older sister,” ang nakangiting pahayag ni Nicky.
Nakagawa na rin si Nicky ng short film na pinamagatang Favoritism kung saan ang direktor ay ang mahusay na actor/director na si Ricky Davao.

“Actually, working with Direk Ricky Davao is very shocking and very exciting!
“Very challenging din coz as a beteranong aktor, ang tagal-tagal na niya sa showbiz, being there at that moment, being your director… in front of you, Direk Ricky Davao, it’s a privilege for us.
“So sobrang saya po namin nung nalaman namin na siya yung magdi-direk ng short film namin.”
NICKY IDOLIZES KATHRYN
May isang artista naman na iniidolo si Nicky.
“Ako po ang nilu-look up ko po talaga is Kathryn Bernardo, coz when I watched her, yung The Hows of Us, I was really fascinated by her acting.
“It’s like dinidibdib niya pero ako din napi-feel ko din yung character inside of her, so naging idol ko po talaga si Ms. Kathryn Bernardo.”

Mayroon ba siyang showbiz crush na gusto niyang makatrabaho?
“Actually, showbiz crush po sa teens right now is Donny Pangilinan.
“When I first saw him act, parang medyo… na-move po ako sa acting niya, like as I said kay Kathryn Bernardo, hindi po pilit.
“It’s very natural how he acts, kahit alam mo yung weakness and strength ng isang actor, pero yung sa kanya hindi po niya pinapakita yun, he’s being natural in front of the camera and off-cam.
“So I’m really looking forward to work with Donny Pangilinan someday,” sinabi pa ni Nicky.
