Nagbigay ng opinyon ang singer at army reservist na si Ronnie Liang hinggil sa 12-day supension na ipinataw ng MTRCB sa Kapamilya noontime show na It's Showtime.
"Unanimous" ang desisyon ng mga miyembro ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board na patawan ng 12-day suspension ang It's Showtime dahil sa ilang mga paglabag ng programa, kabilang ang umano'y "indecent act/s" ng real-life partners na sina Vice Ganda at Ion Perez sa segment nilang "Isip Bata," noong July 25, 2023.

Sa pamamagitan ng X (dating Twitter) noong September 12, nagbigay ng opinyon si Ronnie ukol sa pinag-uusapang isyu.
Ayon sa kanya, para umanong selective justice ang pinapairal ngayon ng MTRCB dahil sa inconsistency nito sa pagpapatupad ng guidelines.
Kuwestiyonable rin daw ang mabilis na pag-aksyon ng ahensya sa violation ng It's Showtime, gayong mas marami namang katulad o mas malala pang eksena sa ibang programa at palabas na ipinagkibit-balikat lang ng MTRCB sa mga nagdaang panahon.

Mababasa sa tweet ni Ronnie (published as is), "Here's my honest opinion about the MTRCB issue with [It's] Showtime.
"The MTRCB, as the regulatory body, should give clear and consistent guidelines or parameters for acceptable content.
"In this case, they quickly suspended Showtime because Vice Ganda was seen licking icing off his co-host and partner Ion Perez's fingers.
"However, there were similar or worse situations on other shows that were not addressed with the same urgency or attention.
"This inconsistency raises questions about their decision-making. Parang selective justice. Sorry po, pero ganun ang impression."

Nagbigay rin ng reaksiyon si Ronnie tungkol sa posisyon ni Lala Sotto bilang MTRCB chairperson, at sa relasyon nito sa mga host ng E.A.T., ang rival program ng It's Showtime.
Si Lala ay anak ni dating Senator Tito Sotto at pamangkin ni Vic Sotto, na parehong bahagi ng E.A.T.
Ayon kay Ronnie, malaking factor ang posisyon ni Lala kung bakit maraming netizens ang hanggang ngayon ay nagdududa sa pagiging patas ng MTRCB sa pagbibigay ng violation.

Saad ng singer, "Chair Lala Sotto's ties to a rival show of Showtime have sparked concerns about fairness within the board.
"Even though Chair Sotto claimed to have abstained from the suspension order, her presence as the head of the MTRCB and her close family connections to the showbiz industry cast doubt."

Inihalintulad pa ni Ronnie ang posisyon ni Lala sa isang referee sa larong basketball, kung saan ang kaibigan o kapamilya nito ang isa sa mga player.
Mahirap umano para sa karamihan na tingnang patas ang gagawin nitong desisyon lalo na't may malapit sa kanyang sangkot sa isyu.
Pagkukumpara niya, "It's like having a referee in a basketball game who's best friends with one of the players – it just doesn't feel right.
"People expect regulatory bodies to be impartial.
"Kapag may koneksyon ka sa industriya na nireregulate mo at kapamilya mo mismo, mahirap para sa iba na tingnan ka na neutral. [Peace sign] uli."
Sa huli, nilinaw ni Ronnie na wala siyang personal na isyu kay Lala pero suhestiyon niyang dapat ay iba na ang mamuno sa MTRCB.
Ito ay upang matuldukan na ang haka-haka tungkol sa ahensya pagdating sa conflict of interest, fairness, at iba pa.
Sabi niya, "If conflicts of interest persist and the public sees the MTRCB as being affected by personal relationships, it could tarnish the board's reputation and credibility.
"They must be perceived as fair and trustworthy.
"I have no personal issues with Chair Sotto, but someone else should lead the MTRCB.
"Clarity, consistency, and avoiding conflicts of interest will help maintain the MTRCB's reputation and prevent public backlash. "
