Pansamantalang namahinga ang showbiz career ni Tony Labrusca nang masangkot siya sa kontrobersiya sa isang private party noong January 2021.
Nakasuhan siya ng two counts of acts of lasciviousness kaugnay ng insidente kunsaan hinubaran niya diumano ng pang-itaas na damit ang isang female guest sa party kaya nakita ang dibdid nito sa harap ng ibang guests.
Pero hindi umandar ang kaso dahil iniatras ng piskalya ang information na inihain nito sa korte noong March 2022.

Inireklamo rin siya ng pananakal sa isa pang complainant na naroon din sa party, pero nabasura iyon noong July 2021 dahil lampas na ang prescription date para sa pag-file ng reklamo sa piskalya.

Sa pagbabalik-telebisyon ni Tony, tinanong ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kung nakaramdam siya ng pangamba na baka mahirapan siyang makabalik sa pag-arte dahil sa kinasangkutang kontrobersiya.
Huli siyang napanood sa Kapamilya digital drama anthology na Click, Like, Share noong 2021 at sa digital movie na Breathe Again noong 2022.
"You know what, I never really thought about it, kasi siguro with all that just happened, I stopped planning na lang.
"[I] just started living my life. God is the one planning for me, so it worked out nicely."
May conscious effort ba siyang umiwas sa mga party o kaya ay mag-doble-ingat para hindi siya masangkot uli sa gulo?
Sagot ni Tony, "I do love to party. I don't know if that's gonna change.
"But I think, you know what, you work hard, [so you] play hard too. Do everything you need to do."
Ang importante raw, sabi niya, "Don't trust anybody, stay humble, and no matter what anybody does to you, stay kind."
Nakapanayam ng PEP.ph ang Kapamilya actor sa back-to-back media conference ng Pira-Pirasong Pangarap at Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin, na ginanap sa Luxent Hotel noong July 13, 2023.
Bida si Tony sa Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin, isang collaboration ng ABS-CBN AT TV5.
Itinuturing ni Tony na comeback project ito, at handa raw siyang galingan nang husto ang pag-arte para patunayang karapat-dapat siya sa oportunidad na binigay sa kanya.
"Sobrang grateful na nakasama ako dito. Grabe yung mga actors na kasama ko, mga veterans na have been in this industry for so long.
"For a newbie like me to be given this opportunity, I'm grateful.
"I'm scared, of course, but I guess if you have that fear it means you're in the right track."
Ano ang kinatatakutan niya?
Sagot ni Tony, "The fear is that there's so much pressure. There's people that I can't let down.
"When you're given this opportunity, and you're around with so many amazing actors, you don't wanna mess up.
"This is a make-or-break situation, so I guess the fear is what's gonna keep you alive."

ON KISSING SCENES WITH RIA ATAYDE
Kapareha ni Tony sa show ang aktres na si Ria Atayde, na umaming sinabihan niya si Tony na wag ma-conscious sa kanilang love scenes.
Pinaliwanag naman sa amin ng aktor kung bakit siya na-conscious sa mga love scenes nila ni Ria.
"Conscious in a sense na they told us it's gonna be a sexy show. We didn't know just to what extent.
"Nung day one, pinatikim nila sa amin kung gaano ka-sexy nga ang show na ito, grabe!
"Like what I've said kanina, I've never worn that intimate clothing.
"But you know what, we watched the shots, it's really worth it, ang ganda. Ang ganda talaga ng pagkakagawa."
Ayon din kay Tony, malaking bagay na magkakaibigan sila ng mga kasama sa set kung kaya't mas magaan ang trabaho para sa kanila.
"It makes life easier, definitely. If they're your friends, you feel somehow na mayroon kang support system.
"It's nice in the scene that we have to break down, you'll be there for each other. Pag di mo kaibigan, saan ka kakapit?"
Ang mga kasama sa cast ng Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin ay sina JC de Vera, Joko Diaz Maila Gumila, Carla Martinez, Nico Antonio, Kim Rodriguez, Aya Fernandez, Jeffrey Santos, at Richard Quan.

SINGLE AT THE MOMENT
Nang tanungin namin kung may girlfriend siya ngayon, sinabi niya na wala ito sa prayoridad niya ngayon.
"We'll see what will happen in the future, but right now I need to focus on this opportunity talaga.
"Maybe non-showbiz na lang because my life is always put on display, so maybe something intimate shouldn't be put out for everyone to see.
"What happens, let's see na lang."
