Voltes V: Legacy is taking its act to one of the world's biggest pop culture events.
The live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese anime aired on GMA Network has been invited to participate at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 happening from July 20 to 23, 2023.
The event will take place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, USA.
This marks the first time that a television program from the Philippines will be part of a panel, giving attendees more insights about the show and its creation.
The San Diego Comic-Con started in 1970 and has become among the most-anticipated international events that highlight pop culture ranging from comic books, films, TV shows, games, and toys.
The event, likewise, has become a launchpad to announce and promote projects and products in the abovementioned industries.
Celebrities also flock to the event, as well as authors, directors, writers, and other names in the creative field.

WHO WILL ATTEND?
Stars of the show along with network executives will grace the occasion.
GMA Network Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Assistant Vice President for Drama Helen Rose S. Sese, and actors Ysabel Ortega and Gabby Eigenmann, and director Mark Reyes, are reportedly attending the talk.
According to the event's official website, the talk is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11: a.m.
Billed "Dogu Publishing Hosts: Voltes V: Legacy," the panel discussion will tackle the stories behind the collaboration between GMA Network and Japanese studio Toei Animation.
The website stated, "Immerse yourself in the captivating legacy of this beloved mecha anime series, now reborn as a breathtaking live-action spectacle.
"Join the stars, executive producers, and industry experts in an exhilarating panel that guarantees thrilling behind-the-scenes insights, unforgettable moments, and a joyous celebration of this modern retelling."
Voltes V: Legacy made its debut on May 8, 2023, and is top-billed by Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, and Ysabel Ortega.
The series is an adaptation of Voltes V, the beloved Japanese anime series released in the late 70s.
Since airing in the Philippines in 1978, Voltes V has gained a massive following among Filipino viewers, making it a cultural phenomenon that continues to this day.

But it's not just Voltes V: Legacy that is adding a Filipino flavor to this year's San Diego Comic-Con.
Filipino-American comic book creators will also get their time in the spotlight through the panel discussion, "Halo-Halo: A Scoop of Filipino-American Voices in Comics."
The discussion will also take place on July 22, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Sharing their stories are renowned comic book creators Whilce Portacio (X-Men, Stone), Patricio Ginelsa (Lumpia with a Vengeance), Cecilia Lim (Kwento Comics), Joe Arciaga (Diwata Komiks), and Mark "Bayani" Teodosio (The Realest Bayani).
The talk, according to the description on the website, will see the guests "discuss how they took control of their own narrative, adding their unique flavors to the Filipino American diaspora."
Filipino creative talents based overseas, particularly in the West, have been getting their share of attention in the media recently.
There is Filipino-Canadian voice artist Eric Bauza who is behind the voices of iconic cartoon characters Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, and Porky Pig.
Another example is Pixar Story Artist Bobby Rubio, whose work includes Incredibles 2, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Inside Out, and Float, which is the first-ever Pixar Short starring Pinoy characters.
In May, Sesame Street welcomed its first Filipino muppet, TJ, created and conceptualized by Filipino animator Bobby Pontillas in collaboration with puppeteer Louis Mitchell.
