Kinumpirma ni former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno na pumayag siyang maging isa sa regular hosts ng Eat Bulaga! sa GMA-7.
Sa panayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), ibinahagi ni Isko na umaga pa lang ay dumarating na siya sa APT Studios, sa Marcos Highway, Cainta, Rizal. Dito nagla-live telecast ang noontime show na ipinoprodyus ng Television And Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc.
Unang sumalang sa Eat Bulaga! si Isko noong June 10, 2023, o limang araw mula nang ilunsad ang bagong mukha ng noontime show matapos ang "exodus" nina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon sa TAPE.

Ano ang kunsiderasyon niya nang alukin siya ng TAPE na maging host?
Sagot ni Isko: "Well, I’m honored and I’m humbled with the opportunity.
"Mahirap fill-up-an ang naibigay na legacy ng Tito, Vic, and Joey sa buhay nating mga Filipino, sa Pilipinas at sa 44 years.
"We have to give it to them. It’s really a big challenge na sumuot sa sapatos nila.
"Hindi man natin mapantayan, but ang importante, yung magpatuloy ang pagpapasaya sa tao at pagtulong sa tao through Eat Bulaga!, GMA-7, Kapuso."
Ayon kay Isko, hindi niya kailangang magpaalam sa TVJ bago niya tinanggap ang proyekto, pero nagpaabot daw siya ng mensahe sa mga ito.
"Hindi naman, nagpaabiso naman ako in advance as a matter of respect, through a common friend," lahad niya.
Ano ang sagot ng TVJ?
"Wala naman, okay naman daw. Sabi ng kaibigan ko, okay lang," saad niya.
"Because we treat each other with mutual respect.
"I respect them.
"And one way or another, tayong mga Filipino na nabuhay ngayon, naging bahagi rin ng buhay natin ang Tito, Vic and Joey."
Aminado si Isko sa kritisismong natatanggap ngayon ng Eat Bulaga! sa gitna ng kontrobersiyal na hidwaan ng TAPE at ng TVJ.
Pero hindi ito ang pokus ni Isko.
"Well, una, work is work," paliwanag ni Isko.
"Kahit naman ang mga kababayan nating Filipino, kapag binigyan ng opportunity na makapagtrabaho, magtatrabaho rin sila.
"It has nothing to do na mga personal na hindi pagkakaunawaan, that’s one."
Naiintindihan din daw ni Isko ang pinanggagalingan ng detractors ng revamped noontime show.
"And hindi mo rin naman masisisi ang mga kababayan nating Filipino kasi, ano yan, e, maraming adjustment.
"Maraming mga pagbabagong mangyayari, e, meron tayong nakasanayan. Yung adjustment, it takes time, and I believe in that.
"That’s why, with TAPE Incorporated, the management team, the creative team and the artists, we’re really trying to come up with a good noontime show."
Nakapanayam ng PEP.ph si Isko sa opisina niya para sa Scott Media sa BGC, Taguig City, noong June 15, 2023.
Ang Scott Media ay ang kumpanyang pag-aari ni Isko na nagproprodyus ng digital shows sa YouTube tulad ng Iskovery, Unplugged, Sweet Dreamz, at Marites University.
ON blooper in eat bulaga!
Patuloy na kuwento ni Isko, may nakatokang segment sa kanya sa Eat Bulaga!, ang "G sa Gedli," na mala-'Sugod Bahay' ang format.
Sa isang episode kunsaan kasama niya ang co-host na si Buboy Villar, isa sa napili nilang bigyan ng premyo ay ang pedicab driver.
Laugh trip iyon dahil ang pinasalamatan ng pedicab driver ay sina Tito, Vic, at Joey, na mabilis namang nasalo ni Isko na "O, yun! Tito, Vic, and Joey, mga nakasama natin nung araw!"
May mga pumuri sa kanya dahil mabilis at swabe ang reaksiyon niya sa blooper.

Sabi naman ni Isko, "Because from the beginning, as I’ve said a while ago, wala akong intensiyon na palitan ang TVJ.
"At hindi mapapalitan sa puso’t damdamin ng bawat Filipino."
Sa parte raw niya ay handa siyang ibahagi ang kakayanan bilang host ng noontime show.
"What we offer now is a new type of entertainment. And, in fact, hindi niyo napapansin, eto ha, hindi naman talaga ‘O kumakanta.' I mean, it’s an open-secret.
"Pero sabi nila kasi kumanta lang, hindi naman nila sinabing tonohan," natawang sabi ni Isko.
Dagdag niya, "Kumbaga, we’re gonna exert more effort — the creative Team, TAPE Incorporated, the production — we’ll really do our best for the people to be entertained in the noontime show.
"And to help. As much as possible, mapahaba namin ang kamay namin na marami pang mayakap."
ON RETURN TO HOSTING
Natapos ang termino ni Isko bilang Manila mayor matapos mabigo sa presidential race noong 2022 elections.
Nagsilbi siya bilang three-term councilor sa Manila City mula 1998-2007, vice mayor mula 2007-2016, at mayor mula 2019-2022.
Ang pagsali niya sa Eat Bulaga! ay hudyat ng pagbabalik-showbiz ni Isko, at parang "homecoming" daw ang pakiramdam niya rito.
"Going back in time, in GMA-7, we were trained by Kuya Germs in That’s Entertainment to host a show.
"And as you age, you get promoted and transfer to GMA Supershow," lahad ng 48-year-old actor-politician.
Ang "Kuya Germs" na tinutukoy ni Isko ay ang kanyang yumaong mentor na si German Moreno.
Kaya hindi na raw bago sa kanya ang paghu-host.
"Hindi bago, so parang ngayon muscle memory ang gumagana.
"But I need to improve. I have to improve a lot because it’s been a while.
"It’s been more than 24 years of absence because I’ve been serving the people for 24 years.
"[I've been] absent in hosting and live entertainment but it’s a big challenge."
ON BEING A SENIOR HOST OF THE SHOW
Nang sabihang siya ang pinaka-senior sa mga bagong host ng Eat Bulaga! at tila maaaring bansagang "Bossing" ng show, mabilis na tumanggi si Isko.
Sa original Dabarkads, ang binansagang "Bossing" ay si Vic Sotto.
"Hindi ako bossing, hindi ako bossing," tanggi ni Isko.
"I’m just trying what I have to do and I’m just one of those in a group of people who’s really trying our best to come up with a better show.
"Parang high energy, full entertainment, inspirational, and giving hope sa taong-ayan, lalo na sa mga nangangailangan.
Sa huli, diretsahang tinanong si Isko kung may plano siyang kumandidato uli sa susunod na eleksyon.
"Wala, retired na tayo. Artista muna tayo!" natawang pagtatapos niya.
