An original series from Disney+, Big Bet is a big-budgeted crime-action K-drama that is set to air on December 21, 2022.
According to PEP.ph's (Philippine Entertainment Portal) source who's privy with the details about the project, its film budget amounted to PHP1 billion (according to current exchange rate).
Revealed as part of the Disney Content Showcase in Singapore, Big Bet (formerly known as King of Savvy) is led by veteran South Korean actor Choi Min Sik.
It marks his first television role in more than 25 years after starring in several films like Old Boy, Roaring Currents, and I Saw The Devil.
In a report published by PEP.ph last June, it was reported that the stars of Big Bet were in the Philippines to shoot the crime-action series from the second week of March until June 1, 2022.
Other Korean actors spotted shooting in the country were Reply 1988 star Lee Dong Hwi, Squid Game star Kim Joo Ryoung, and Son Suk Ku (My Liberation Notes).

Pinoy pride in the series
In an exclusive peek of the trailer unveiled during the content showcase on December 1, one Pinoy cast member who is visible in the teaser was Nico Antonio.
Nico is set to portray a vital role in the series.
“My character’s name is Mark Flores," he shared in a message sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal),

"I’m a CIDG officer and was partnered with Son Sukku’s character to investigate the killings of Korean citizens here in the Philippines,” he added.

Veteran actor Ronnie Lazaro was also spotted in the trailer.

Other actors who will be part of the series are Bembol Roco, Epy Quizon, Jeffrey Santos, Art Acuña, Kiko Matos, Rose Van Ginkel, Guji Lorenzana, Babyerna Liong, and Roeder Camañag.
