Panimula sa kalatas, “The issue on the Valedictory Address of Mr. Jayvee Ayen has been dragging for days, especially in the social media/virtual world.

“A world we have to contend with aside from the real/physical one we have.

“A world that is sometimes more harsh than what we have in the daily grind.”

Saad sa kanilang pahayag, “With all that has been said and done and on behalf of Mr. Jayvee Ayen, we apologize to Ms. Mariyela Mari G. Hugo for the carefree attitude of Mr. Ayen in unintentionally copying the idea and style of her speech without proper attribution.

“We apologize to all other individuals and entities who may have been offended and affected by this issue.”

Anila, “We knock on the generosity of hearts of everyone to allow this to pass without hatred towards the person as he moves on to start a career in his life as an entrepreneur or whatever path he would wish to take.

“We offer a reconciliatory gesture to Ms. Hugo and all others for the gap this issue has created.”

Pagtatapos pa nila, “Rest assured that internally, we shall as we always do, within the rules of the College, be making appropriate steps for corrective and formative measures towards Mr. Ayen and in the school in general.

“Finally, we appeal for sobriety and calm. Peace to all. Thank you and God bless.”

THE PLAGIARIZED SPEECH

Caption ng uploader: “A magna cum laude who can't write his own speech. Hindi 'to basta basta "lang" nakakahiya.

“Mariyela Mari Hugo (the one wearing green) is the original speaker and author. She's from FEU (july 2, 2019).

“Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, please do something about this.”

Mariyela: “Lang. The short term for the Filipino word 'lamang' which means just or only.”

Jayvee: “Lang. A shortened Filipino word for 'lamang' which means mere, just, or only.”

Mariyela: “But what does this imply? Knowlegable people shouldn’t be teachers? I shouldn’t teach because I won’t get rich from it? Who should be teachers then?”

Jayvee: “Does this implies [sic] that intelligent people should not be in the field of hospitality, tourism, and business management?”

Mariyela: “Our profession is deemed unusual, impractical, easy.”

Jayvee: “Does this indicate that business management are [sic] impractical, basic, and easy?”

Mariyela: “I beg to disagree.”

Jayvee: “I beg to disagree.”

Saad ng FEU graduate sa kanyang panayam sa Balita, “The issue has already been brought to my attention by concerned netizens.

“While one may have good intentions, one must still check if the means to actualize those intentions are also ethically acceptable. Borrowed ideas, even inspirations, should be cited or at the very least, acknowledged.
