Barbie Forteza is confident about being a better singer than her co-stars in GMA-7’s variety show All-Out Sundays: Julie Anne San Jose, Gabbi Garcia, and Kyline Alcantara.
This is according to her answers in the vlog of Bea Alonzo using a legit lie detector test,
Bea asks: “Would you say na mas magaling kang kumanta sa mga taong ito?”
Julie Anne San Jose? “Yes!”
Kyline Alcantara? “Of course!”
Gabbi Garcia? “Naman!”
The results of the lie-detector test confiirm that Barbie is telling the truth.
She explains to Bea, “Kasi, kapag kumakanta ako, puwedeng i-upload ng GMA sa YouTube kasi wala naman sa tono so walang copyright.
“So magbe-benefit sila, okay lang!”
Julie Anne, Kyline, and Gabbi are known as GMA-7’s resident singers.
Julie, for one, is dubbed as the Kapuso network’s Limitless Star. She started her career in Popstar Kids in 2005 and had also previously earned the title Asia’s Pop Diva.
Kyline has starred in a musical teleserye and launched an album in 2019.
Gabbi, although she has not yet released a full album, already has her own single and even performed the theme song of Encantadia’s 2016 remake.
BARBIE’S VIRAL VIDEO
Barbie also had her own album in 2013, but the actress admits she is really not a singer.
In fact, Barbie’s Party Pilipinas performance of her single “Meron Ba” in 2013 went viral when it was revived on social media in 2017, seeing that she went off-key while singing the song live.
During her PEP Live guesting in December 2020, Barbie said, “Flaw ko siya na tanggap ko so hindi ako na-offend. Tanggap ko sintunado ako.”
She also talked about the real story behind the performance.
Barbie said then, “Actually, nagulat nga ako kasi noong ni-rehearse ko siya, lip sync siya talaga.
“'Tapos noong live na, ‘Ah, boses ko to, ah? Okay, carry on, dedma.’ Pero tanggap ko siya kaya hindi siya naging big deal para sa akin.
“Kasi, hindi ko naman puwedeng sabihin na, ‘Ah sorry, direk, puwede isa pa?’ Kasi live, mami, di ba?”
Occasionally, Barbie would do song numbers in All-Out Sundays.
But she has since concentrated on being an actress.
One of her upcoming projects is Maria Clara at Ibarra with Julie Anne and Dennis Trillo.
