Sing Galing "juke boss" Ronnie Liang is aiming for unity with the release of his new album Para Sa Kapayapaan.
Ronnie talked about his new, self-produced album in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last Thursday, June 9, 2022, in Quezon City.
Ronnie, an army reservist since 2020, is hoping that his new album would shed new light on the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The Viva singer said, "We wanted na ma-win lahat... na magkaisa for peace kasi alam naman natin na akala natin, ang sundalo about war lang.
"At least, through this way, malaman nila na meron din kaming mga kanta."
Ronnie revealed that 11 out of the 12 tracks in the album were penned by the soldiers themselves.
"Ito po ay composed by our soldiers. Sila mismo, composed nila ito.
"May isang composition diyan by Vehnee Saturno, [title is] 'Para Sa Bayan.'
"Ito ay self-produced. Sila lang po yung... ang army ang nag-provide ng songs.
"Out of 87 entries, 12 yung napili. Kasama si Randy Santiago sa nag-judge.
"And I produced the album and at least, through this way, tribute sa lahat ng kasundaluhan natin."
RONNIE LIANG: FOR THE COUNTRY
His experience as an army reservist was the main inspiration why Ronnie decided to release this album. Ronnie said this is one of his ways to pay tribute to all the sacrifices of his fellow army men.
He told PEP.ph, "I went there kasi... Nag-dive ako. I mean, nag-dive in a way na nakita ko yung mga sacrifices nila.
"Pumunta ako ng Sulu, nag-duty ako. Nitong COVID lang, nag-duty ako during the height of the lockdown nitong pandemic.
"So nakita ko yung kanilang mga sacrifices. At least yung talent ko sa pagkanta, magamit ko to give recognition sa kanila.
"Kagaya nung mga sinasabi ko, at least pagtanda ko, kung wala na ako entertainment industry, hindi naman ako habangbuhay nandito, pag lumingon ako, alam ko I did something useful and productive for my country."
It can be recalled that Ronnie was among the celebrities who volunteered to help the army during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ronnie also visited the province of Sulu as part of the twin campaigns of the archipelago, Sa Sulu, PEACEsible Ang Kapayapaan, and the Philippine Army, From Terrorism to Tourism.

Moreover, Ronnie proudly revealed that all the revenue of this passion project will be donated to the AFP.
The "Ngiti" singer said, "I don't get anything dito. Wala akong revenue. Sa mga sundalo na po [mapupunta].
"Depende sa headquarters, sila na po bahala kung ano man ang kailangan nilang i-improve sa mga other facilities, na makatulong.
"Well siguro, bigyan din yung mga composer, yung mga sundalo themselves, na nag-compose."
