Tinawag ni Luis Manzano na "love team of the decade" ang relasyon ng kanyang amang si Edu Manzano sa aktres na si Cherry Pie Picache.
Ito ang bukambibig ni Luis kasabay ng kanyang suporta sa pagmamahalan ng dalawa.
Si Luis ay anak ni Edu kay Vilma Santos.
Sa virtual presscon ng #BeMoreThoughtful campaign ng Toblerone noong Miyerkules, February 2, muling inalala ni Luis kung paano niya nalaman ang relasyon ng ama sa aktres.
Kuwento ni Luis, “I think it was from either my manager, Tita June [Rufino] or kaya I remember there was a restaurant and I know one of the servers.
“She sent me a picture na magkasama sila ni Tita Pie, my dad and Tita Pie. So, I sent my dad a message.
“It was pretty obvious naman na, why would they be together in that restaurant so sinabi ko, ‘Hey Dad, parang you seemed extra happy, a.' “Sabi niya ‘Yes, I am.'
“So siguro that was a pretty obvious answer naman you wouldn’t need to detail it to 8 paragraphs.
“But one thing that I learned is that love will find a way. Di ba sa Jurrasic Park sabi ni... I forgot his name... Jeff Goldblum, na love will find a way.
“Ito, love will find a way. And I told Tita Pie na when she guested in I Can See Your Voice.
“Sabi ko, 'Love has a thing, has a knack for catching you by surprise.' Di ba, once you think na you’ve figured love out, there’s a curve ball na may darating sa buhay mo.
“Sabi ko nga kay Tita Pie, right before this conversation, ‘Let’s go back 6 months, or even a year ago. Did you ever think na you would have a relationship or rekindle whatever you guys had before?’
“Sabi niya ‘No.’ Sabi ko. ‘See? Gulatan lang talaga, e.'
“Gulatan lang talaga ang pag-ibig, e. And in fact, the fact that they dated before, mga 15, 20 years ago? That was new information sa akin when I heard it.”
Inamin ni Edu ang relasyon nila ni Cherry Pie noong nakaraang November 2021.
NOT IN A HURRY
Mag-iisang taon nang kasal sina Luis at ang asawa nitong si Jessy Mendiola sa February 21, pero hindi naman daw sila nagmamadaling makabuo agad ng baby.
Mataas daw kasi ang respeto ni Luis sa mga babae.
Pahayag niya, “One thing that I always say naman sa kanya is whenever you are ready.
“I cannot, and I will not force the issue na gusto ko na magkaanak ngayon, mag-adjust ka. Hindi, never. I will never do that.
“I have the utmost respect for a woman, so parang hindi ko magagawa yun. Basta darating at darating din 'yan pag ready ka na. Ibibigay din sa atin 'yan.”
