Rabiya Mateo is all set to make her television debut in the second season of Agimat ng Agila.
Rabiya is the leading lady of Senator Bong Revilla in the series. She plays the role of Asha Raj, the agent who helps Gabriel (Bong) in his fight against evil.
Her role required her to do action stunts and fight scenes, which she said were physically challenging.
During the show’s media conference on January 23, 2022, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Rabiya what was one scene that made her feel tense while doing it.
She related, “Siguro, iyong first action scene ko kasi natatamaan ko talaga iyong mga stuntman!
“I know na masakit talaga siya and hindi siya biro and minsan, nagkakasakitan talaga, nagkakapasa rin.”
There was also a time when she got hurt while doing an action scene.
She recalled, “Para siyang tsako na napu-fold so parang naipit ko lang iyong daliri ko.
“So, dumugo siya pero it was minor naman, wala namang ano.
“E, ganun talaga, action siya. So, if there’s pain, there’s power.”
Despite the physical challenges she faced, Rabiya chose to see the experience as training for her future projects.
She said, “I guess it’s part, I have to be professional about it.
“Magandang training ground siya and sana, in the future, mas marami pa akong action scenes, action series na magawa kasi parang nakikita ko iyong sarili ko dito.”
Aside from Bong and Rabiya, Agimat ng Agila also stars Elizabeth Oropesa, Benjie Paras, Gardo Versoza, Betong Sumaya, Sandro Muhlach, and Kim de Leon.
Sanya Lopez also has a special participation in the series.
Directed by Rico Gutierrez, Agimat ng Agila returns with a new season on January 29, 2022.
