ABS-CBN has released the first teaser of its much-anticipated adaptation of the British drama Doctor Foster today, December 1.
The 15-second teaser of The Broken Marriage Vow shows Jodi Sta. Maria as a jilted wife after she caught her husband, played by Zanjoe Marudo, having an affair with the character of Sue Ramirez.
The teaser plays a remarkable scene from the K-Drama version, The World of Married: the moment Jodi's character discovers her husband's affair.
During her husband's birthday party, she finds a cellphone hidden inside the compartment of his car.
It also shows the scene where Zanjoe and Sue discreetly hold hands during the party.
The full trailer of The Broken Marriage Vow will be launched on December 15 on ABS-CBN’s broadcast platforms: Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel 11, and TV5.
The series is directed by Connie Macatuno and Andoy Ranay, with the whole of the series shot in Baguio City.
The cast also features Zaijian Jaranilla as the son of Jodi and Zanjoe, as well as Empress Schuck, Jane Oineza, Joem Bascon, Sandino Martin, Angeli Bayani, Rachel Alejandro, and Jake Ejercito.
The full cast of The Broken Marriage Vow was revealed on May 7, 2021.
On April 13, 2021, ABS-CBN and BBC Studios announced that they forged a deal for the Filipino adaptation of the hit drama series about a wife who suspects that her husband is having an affair.
Other countries—Russia, Turkey, India, and France—had local adaptations of the series.
South Korea’s 2020 top-rating drama The World of Married was the latest incarnation.
Its Tagalized version was aired on Kapamilya Channel as The World of a Married Couple.
The Broken Marriage Vow, produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, is the sixth adaptation of Doctor Foster.
