May sagot si Rousanne Marie “Ayn” Bernos sa mga banat sa kanyang hindi siya mananalo sa Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
Si Ayn, isang TikTok star at podcast host, ay agaw-pansin sa upcoming national pageant.
Pasok na siya sa Top 75, at pasok din sa Top 15 runway challenge. Walang dudang matunog ang pangalan niya.
Sa kabila nito, inuulan ng batikos ang content creator dahil hindi raw siya pasok sa “standard of beauty” ng Miss Universe Philippines.
Kinuwestiyon pa kung nasa tama siyang pag-iisip dahil sa pagsali niya sa beauty pageant.
Pahayag ni Ayn sa pamamagitan ng Instagram Story noong Sabado, August 14: “Someone commented that I must have a mental health problem for even thinking I stand a chance against taller, smarter, and more beautiful women.
“So let me clarify one thing. I did not join Miss Universe Philippines because I believed I was the beauty standard.
“I joined it because I KNOW I’m not, and it’s about time girls like me are allowed to try, too.”
Si Ayn, 5’3”, ay nagdesisyong sumali sa Miss Universe Philippines matapos tanggalin ang height requirement sa pageant.
Nais daw niyang magsilbing representante ng mga kababaihang katulad niya.
“Every time I start doubting myself, I always go back to my purpose: I needed someone like me on stage when I was younger. I did not feel represented.
“So now that I can do it for the next generation—why wait?”
“There are kids out there who see themselves in me.
“If I tell myself I’m not good enough, then I’m telling them they’re not good enough.”
Diin pa ng aspiring beauty queen, “I refuse to do that. So I represent.
“Thank you to those who understand and believe.”
Nitong Linggo, August 15, may binanggit din ni Ayn sa kanyang caption na expected na nitong may mga taong pupunahin ang pagsabak niya sa pageant.
Aniya, “I’m going to bed with a light and full heart.
“Alam ko naman from the beginning what kind of pushback I’d receive from some people… but what I didn’t expect was how much love and support I would be getting as well.
“Salamat po sa inyo. Laban!”
Pagkatapos ng Top 75, susunod namang pipiliin ang Top 50 ng Miss Universe Philippines 2021, hanggang sa matira ang Top 30 na maglalaban-laban sa grand coronation night sa September 25, 2021.
