Maja Salvador is all set to top-bill a TV5 teleserye soon.

She is the lead star of the Kapatid network’s upcoming series titled Niña Niño.

A teaser for the upcoming series was uploaded on Facebook by Solid Maja Fans on March 5, 2021, which seemed to be screengrabbed from a TV5 teaser.

Also in the teaser is child actor Noel Comia Jr., who won Best Actor in the 2017 Cinemalaya Film Festival for his performance in the movie Kiko Boksingero.

On February 24, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), through Cabinet Files, reported that Maja attended the story conference of Niña Niño, which will be produced by Cignal and TV5.

Empoy Marquez is reportedly part of the cast, who first divulged the information that he and Maja will do a series on TV5.

According to the poster of Niña Niño, the series will start airing on April 12, 2021, a Monday, which means that it might be a daily series.

Some Twitter fans are assuming that Maja’s series might replace TV5’s only ongoing drama series, Paano Ang Pangako?, which airs from Monday to Friday at 7:15 p.m.

Maja's TV5 series confirms that she is staying with the Kapatid network, contrary to rumors saying that she is about to sign a contract with GMA-7.

BACK TO BACK WITH PRIMETIME BIDA?

If the assumptions on the timeslot of Maja’s series are right, Niña Niño will air back to back with the TV5 simulcast of ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block, which begins on March 8, 2021.

The Primetime Bida block includes the long-running series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, starring Coco Martin, where Maja used to be a cast member.

Maja was one of Coco’s original leading ladies when FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano premiered in September 2015. However, in 2016, Maja decided to leave the show to do other projects outside the show.

Since then, Maja starred in two other prime-time shows: Wildflower (2017) and The Killer Bride (2019).

This will be Maja’s first series on TV5 since her contract with ABS-CBN lapsed in 2020.

She then joined TV5’s defunct Sunday noontime show, Sunday Noontime Live (SNL), in October 2020.

However, despite its supposed six-month airing, SNL aired its farewell episode on January 17, 2021, and was replaced by TV5’s simulcast of rival ABS-CBN program ASAP Natin ‘To.
