Angel Locsin is the new ambassador of the anti-piracy campaign of the Optical Media Board (OMB).
This was announced in a press conference held on December 20, 2019 by OMB.
The government agency is tasked to look after the “mastering, manufacture, and replication” of optical media, including movies and TV shows
The actress, who last starred in the ABS-CBN primetime action-drama series, The General’s Daughter, is also known for her humanitarian work, personal advocacies, and support of the Philippine National Red Cross.
For this reason, Angel has been deemed suited to promote OMB’s drive against piracy known as #NgayonNa campaign.
According to a press release posted on OMB’s website, the agency believes that those qualities of Angel correlate with its own advocacies.
Her new role involves active participation in activities that promote the “intellectual rights of producers, composers, and media creators.”
Angel appears in OMB’s latest infomercial produced by Neil Arce, who happens to be her fiancé.
Directed by Tey Clamor, the infomercial also features actor Cholo Barretto.
Angel is the second showbiz personality to be named anti-piracy ambassador after ABS-CBN actor and movie producer Piolo Pascual.
